“I hit this place with my the rest of my foursome at the nearby golf course. The staff was cheerful and the beer was good. There was even band playing. Overall, it was a nice experience.“

“Realized it's been a year since I first went there. Nice place, taking over the old Mad Fox location, big facelift from what was there before. Food was really solid - good pizza and chicken. Solace beer is always solid, and the selection here was quite nice. Service is a little strange with COVID going on, but overall its been working. Update: Now that things are starting to return to normal, I'll give an update since my initial review was during the height of COVID. Ordering still happens at the bar, but you can pretty much walk up to any part of the bar to order. There's another bar in the game room that is occasionally open when it's busy. No change in rating. Pizza and chicken are still good, 18 months in. Good for sharing (if you want). Beer selection rotates often enough, which is nice.“

“Nice addition to the Falls Church beer scene. Bigger selection and overall more interesting beers than the former tenant. Hope the do well.“

“Cool place just down the street from Dominion. Lots of space, and great selection of Solace beer. A lot of brewery one-offs (Read:Tickz). Beer here was quite good, often better than the stuff you get on tap and in can everywhere. Had some Currywurst fries as well that were pretty good. They had some outdoor seating and even a live band. Been a while since I've heard live music. Definitely worth a visit. They do half pints right now and pints, so you can at least bang off a few ticks without getting completely blotto. Prices OK.“

“Fun little place with a decent selection, not as unique as Dominion, but a decent stop with taps and bottles to-go. Selection rotates frequently, and are unique enough to warrant return trips. Lots of tables to sit at. Food was tasty and good for a quick bite.“

“Decent supermarket selection, a solid number of regional beers, but not many locals that you can't find elsewhere. For a short time I would see 4-packs of Aslin, which was a really nice find. Prices are decent, definitely worth picking up mix-packs when they're on sale. There's a beer bar that hasn't been opened since COVID happened, which always had a few people hanging out. When it's opened, there's always a few fun local kegs available. Worth a trip in a pinch after the other shops have closed for the day.“

“"Upscale" sports bar. Really nice outside patio. Decent, but mostly unchanged draft list make it not a destination for new brews, but you'll be able to find something you like there if you're with a group of people. Usually there's something new I haven't had, but usually just one or two drafts or bottles/cans. Food is really decent stuff, solid sharable apps.“

“Decent friendly place with flights in Falls Church. Good ambiance and service. Only thing was the quality of the beer - a little lacking, below average in many occasions. Settle Down Easy down the street is a better option if you are short on time. Visited about a year ago with“

“Visited 3/2020. First has bottleshop and you have to walk through narrow stairs to upstairs for beer restaurants. Beer menu was pretty impressive! Lots of new breweries and fresh IPAs. Tasters available for tickers. I had sandwich and it was anything special but it was biggest that I have ever had. Good place!“

“Typical shopping center industrial space. Seemed to have plenty of auto parking, but no bike parking. Wide selection of beers, normal prices, beers were mixed in quality. The use of poker chips to ID beers in flights is clever. No flight price though.“

“Delicious BBQ, certainly worth the trip just for that, but having some decent drink options is a nice added bonus. Mostly local and regional beers. Weekend brunch is all-you-can-eat and certainly worth the price.“

“I've been there a few times since they opened, and their beer is spot on. For a new brewery, they really were able to dial in their beers pretty quickly. Great space, good staff. The tasting trays are fun with their use of poker chips to identify what you're drinking. Consistently 12+ beers on tap, most of which are good. They have to-go canning, which is kind of cool.“

“Easy access through a lower level parking garage. Beer selection is okay, but mainly oriented to six packs of pretty easy to find beers. Build your own six packs offer some opportunity to try a few different beers at a reasonable cost. Not one bomber or European Beer to be found.“

“Great place lost in the middle of Falls Church suburban wasteland. Awesome mix of good beers from Northern Virginia with a few others from around the country. Well selected focus on quality here. I only had the duck fries, which were good, but other stuff on the menu also looked good. Friendly service, and everythin is available in 4 oz pours. Good music and super packed on the Saturday when I was here.“

“Dedicated small parking lot right in front. Cramped boutique with beer on the left and wine on the right as you walk in. The bar upstairs is upscale, but I did not see anything I wanted to try during my visits. Bottle selection is limited, but I typical land a few selections. Pricing seemed average for quality. They do have singles, but they don’t seem to want to break up their cans, hence the updated score.“

“Free dedicated parking right in front that was busy even on around 2pm on Tuesday, but still found a spot easily at that time. There were people to fill your growler that were chatting it up, but nobody near the bottles. Narrow long Whole Foods. Bottle selection was quite limited and some interesting regional selections for growler fills. No reason to come back.“

“Newest brewery in the area, went on opening day (a Saturday). Pretty busy, most people were watching the Maryland-Ohio State football game on several big tv's. Super friendly staff. Pretty typical layout and ambiance of a stripmall microbrewery. Beers were mostly meh, save for a really good dry-hopped Kolsch. Worth a stop for new beer or place ticks, that's about it.“

“Located in the main strip of Falls Church. Only walked through the inside, was outside at the upstairs bar. Food looked like typical pub fare, with a few local beers on tap. Might be a good hangout spot for a mixed group of beer drinkers and non-beer drinkers.“

“Pre-upstairs opening review: Very nice bottle shop, with good selection of craft beers. Shelves and coolers. Clean, roomy, great location, friendly service. A solid bottle shop in Falls Church. Update: 12 tap growler station that now has crowlers too. Always have at least 1 Ocelot IPA on draft, and often have rare regional and nationals as well. Friendliest staff around. Great place, my go-to bottle shop. Post-upstairs opening review: After 18 months of permitting and construction, they finally opened the upstairs bar/restaurant. Wow. Gorgeous environs and amenities. Outstanding service (everyone gets cold filtered water glass, constantly refilled, personal and timely attention). Proper glassware. Great 24 tap list, with most available for crowlers and growlers to go (exceptions being Aslin and Veil, per brewery rule). Prices are lower than all competitors, and the 20% off happy hour deal is a steal (4pm-7pm). Food is 5 star. The only downside, and I mean the only downside, is that this place is so solid that it gets packed every night at 7:00 or so. I now basically live here. The downstairs is still the best bottle shop in the Falls Church area, and dare I say all of NOVA.“

“Decent brewery in a small strip mall off the main drag of downtown Falls Church. Friendly but slightly awkward bartenders in barbershop-esque shirts. Good amount of beers though a small variety of styles. Quality of beers is average to above average, nothing off flavor from what I tried. No food but you can bring your own in. Worth a look but I'd stick to Dominion or Mad Fox if you only had time for one stop in Falls Church.“

“Good location with adequate parking (for now at least). Pretty spacious inside, but barren of decor or ambiance. Owner posted a sign saying they are working on making it less loud, so there is that. They came out of the gate with lots of beers, all on point for style, though none are particularly noteworthy. Service is very nice and attentive. Decent price, at least for the area. I am very close, and so have been by a few times already. I have high hopes for them, seem like great people who do care about what they are doing and the customer's experience.“

“Relatively new brewery opened up in the heart of Falls Church (literally across the street from THE Falls Church).

Huge selection on tap for a brand new location. Most beer was decent to good, nothing mind blowing yet, but they show a lot of promise with a few of their beers. I liked that their first batch of beers ran through a ton of styles, they really seemed to want to dial in their process across the board. As of the writing of this review, the place is a work in progress, each time I visit something new is up around the room. There are two large bars on either side of the space, the main bar, and then brewing equipment behind the other bar.“

“I visited before their grand opening, which according to their Facebook page, is "coming soon." The brewery is located in pretty nondescript older strip mall with adequate parking. The open floor plan offers a closes few of their entire 5 barrel brewing system and features a bar and a few tables. Although pretty basic, the vibe was quite good, with friendly staff and congenial customers. The eight or so taps feature, for the most part, fairly traditional English and German beer styles. All are available in small pours. Sadly, their two IPAs had kicked when I visited, but all of the beers I tried were good to very good. I particularly liked their ESB, which is not ordinarily a style I get very excited about. From our discussion with the bartender, they are planning on doing lots of experimenting, so I am looking forward to going back to see what new beers they have.“

“Visited on a weeknight with DCLawyer. BBQ restaurant in the corner of a small shopping plaza. Decent amount of parking but it can get pretty full during peak times, especially around rush/happy hour times. Friendly service, a little confusing on whether to order at the register or sit down at a table and wait for table service. Solid beer selection with 15 or so taps of mostly local and regional craft beer, cocktails/wine/liquor also available. Food wise, we ordered most of the meats besides the brisket which was out. Everything was pretty tasty including the sausage and pulled pork, but the fried chicken was probably the winner for me. Sides were good, mac & cheese had a nice breadcrumb crust, tasty pickled veggies, slaw, etc. Prices about average on food and beer. Probably not a beer destination, but a nice food stop before/after Mad Fox and/or Spacebar. Come for the BBQ and enjoy the beer as a compliment.“

“Stopped in on a Saturday evening to a completely packed space. Shoulder to shoulder with difficulty moving around. I somehow found a spot at the bar due to dumb luck. The service was surprisingly nice even with the packed house. I didn't order any food so that may skew my perception (because some people near me seemed to be complaining about the slow and wrong food orders). Regardless, good service, and interesting tap list with many brews I'd not seen elsewhere. I will say that many of them were pedestrian so I wasn't blown away. If you want a packed beer bar and a grilled cheese this is your spot. Solid but not a destination.“

“Located just a couple of blocks from Mad Fox, It’s easy to drive by Spacebar since it’s not a very large place. There’s a tiny lot in front but there’s also street parking on Oak street that’s very close. Definitley a diner vibe except with a bit of a space theme. We got there about 20 minutes after they opened on a Saturday Night which was good since the place fills pretty quickly. Tap list is hyper-local with just a few craft drafts outside of a 200 mile radius. They offer a variety of tasting sizes as well as selling 16 ounces to go mason jars. The bartenders/cooks were friendly and efficient. The menu is basically grilled cheese, though with 100’s of possible iterations, and tater tots but that’s a pretty perfect meal with craft beer. It’s a pretty cool place and I wish there was something like this where I live.“

“Absolutely beautiful place...décor...western theme...mural on the wall...light fixtures...sunken bar area...and more...corporate beer place done very nicely. The food is pretty decent for what is kind of maybe one click up from a sport bar. I love the chalkboard artwork for their beers. Having said all of that...the beers really aren’t that good. I tried a flight of most and a taste of the rest. A couple were good (as in not great)...like the High Desert Imperial Stout...but most of the rest were below average (as in nothing special). If you live near one of their locations...visit for the food and fun atmosphere...but don’t go out of your way to visit...especially for the beer.“

“Down the street from Mad Fox. Kind of a diner feel to it, complete with the row of booths with cheap vinyl covering. Doing a decent business on a Monday evening. Taplist was interesting, VA/MD focused for sure, but a well thought out selection. Beers available in two sizes, which is good. Kinda got the feeling that the lines could use a good cleaning. Service was decent, a bit slow. Did not try the food. Not sure what is so special about this place>>??“

“Finally stopped by here one day when I was in Falls Church. Very small space, but full of both wine and beer. Not as huge a selection as Norms or a Total Wine, but selection is really solid for 6 packs as well as individual bottles. Tap station is where it is at though. They have a very unique, obscure and local selection of taps that I haven’t seen anywhere else to date. Solid staff and decent prices makes this place worth a stop. The relatively new restaurant upstairs makes this almost a can't miss location in the NOVA, and even DC area. Most consistent selection of some of the big-named VA breweries, with a lot of good, and sometimes more rare taps from around the nation. The food is excellent. The staff is quirky and fun and some of the best folks I've interacted with on a consistent basis.“
