“A restaurant connected to the Thon Hotel Backlund. Not the biggest selection, but they have beers from local brews Inderøy and Klostergården. Worth a visit if you want to try beer from local areas. Also food from local farms.“

“The most popular pub in Levanger. Good beer selection in bottles. Very informative beer menu at the table, about 350 different beers. Many from local breweries such as Austmann, Inderøy, Hogna, Klostergården and E.C. Dahls. But, I will say the beer selection is rather conservative with well known beers from well known breweries from Norway, Europe and US. Do not expect finding something brand new or hipsterish fruit or NEIPA beers! I was served a beer from tap that for sure was another beer than what they claimed it was. A young barmaid promised to find out what beer it was, but I never heard anything. Also bought a bottle that was an alias beer from Inderøy. Interior is like an classic, brown English pub. The walls are more or less covered with all sorts of brewery and beer related merchandise. Varied seating with many separate seating areas for 4-6 persons. Late in the evening this place became to crowded. Make sure to visit early in the evening. (Visited July 25th 2020)“

“I stayed at Thon Hotel Backlund and the restaurant Madame Backlund is connected to the hotel but do also have an own street entrance with a patio in front. For sure a fine restaurant focusing on local food and beer. Two beers from Klostergården on tap and six more in bottles. Also six bottles from Inderøy Gårdsbryggeri. Friendly and swift service. I enjoyed Klostergården ESB Bonsak, a decent thirst quencher. (Visited July 25th 2020)“

“Decent beer selection, Levanger is after all not a big city. Good selection of beers from the local breweries Inderøy and Klostergården. (Visited June 27th 2020)“

“For a long time this pub has had a reputation of being a good one. My expectations were high when I finally had a chance to pay them a visit, and I was not let down. When it comes to drinking well-made craft beers in a relaxing and cozy atmosphere, it’s one of the greatest beer destinations in Norway, and, definitely, the best one north of Trondheim. The tap menu of five beers is of the usual kind, but then there is a very large and varied bottled menu of about 250 different sorts. Among others six from Klostergården Tautra and nine from Inderøy Gårdsbryggeri, both local microbreweries in the region. Bottles from other Norwegian breweries includes; seven from Haandbryggeriet, three from Kinn, 14 from Nøgne Ø, and seven from Ægir. In addition quite a few beers from other countries to choose from; Fullers, Ossian, Coisbo, Fanø, St Peters, Baladin, Schlenkerla, Weihenstephaner and so on. Service was irreproachable, and I was let into the back room for inspection of all their beer fridges. The beers were all well-kept and served at a perfect drinking temperature. The beer selection is listed in two menus, one alphabetic and one after beer styles. Oskars Pub could be characterized as a classic brown British pub, nicely decorated all over the medium sized L-shaped room. The pub is closed on Sundays and Mondays and opens at 19.00 on week days and at 21.00 on Fridays and Saturdays (visited 19.11.2013).“

“Nice place situated in the middle of town. Very much inspired by British pub looks with lots of pictures, old instruments and beer related stuff on the walls. The selection on tap is small, but they do have Klostergården on tap. The bottle selection is what makes this place truly unique. They have well above 200 bottles, a lot of local stuff from both Klostergården and Inderøya Gårdsbryggeri as well as imports. On several occasions have I found very rare gems like NØ Andrimnir BW and 10 years old Fullers’ Vintage etc. The prices are fairly low compared to other beer places, and If you ask nicely you can walk in to the storage room and select the beers yourself. But be warned, this place is overrun by drunken locals during the weekends, and some of the younger bartenders have no knowledge about beer. This is definitely a place worth visiting, but avoid weekends and public holidays.“
