44 /100 Vinmonopolet Arendal (Beer Store) VESTERVEIEN 4 Typisk småby-VP med liten ølseksjon. Skuffende lite utvalg fra lokale helter som NØ, Homborsund o.a.
60 /100 MERDØ The place is a little gem on an island outside Arendal
But make sure it is open if you want to go here. It is only open during the summer.
You understand why when you get here.
Beer wise it is perfect because it is a very hard to get brewery tick
The selection is off course not really good
But the beer you get is good. And that matters
BUT make sure you get a bottle of beer. They are for sure made at the premises
Beers on tap…..hmmmmm…….very similar to a brewery on the mainland…..
Also to possible to eat here.
And it an beautiful island to have a walk and rest on the beach under a warming sun |
58 /100 MERDØ Lovely place during any nice summer day, otherwise not exactly that. You have to take the ferry from Arendal to get here, but they have a god frequency departure during summer. Out of season you need to take the taxi boat or use your own, beware that the restaurant might be closed off season. They only got a small 150-liter brewery so they might be empty or at least only offering one beer besides the Arendal macro pilsner. Some rumors even mention that they may serv De Tvende beers with their own label, but the beer I tasted was at least different from De Tvende. They also serve simple dishes like pizza at a rather stiff price, but the surroundings and even just be able to by anything at all at this small island seems to be well worth supporting in my opinion. Whatever you do or drink, remember to spent a few hours and take a short walk around this lovely little island when first doing the trip. |
58 /100 BRYGGERIVEIEN 9 A most breweries in Norway at the moment, you can buy beer up to 4,7% at the premises. Nice friendly staff. If you call them in front, they will surely show you the brewery. It is a bit outside central Arendal . So I advise you to go there by car |
54 /100 BRYGGERIVEIEN 9 We had a small brewery tour here, a small tasting session in the canteen. Small shop here as well, beers below 4,7% only. (Visited during RBNAG18. 3.3.18) |
60 /100 BRYGGERIVEIEN 9 Not easy to rate very high. You can drop in and purchase bottles and cans up to 4.7%. But, the same beers are available in all grocery stores in this region. We met the brewers from the De Tvende-division. Tried their beers in the staff canteen and got a De Tvende brewery tour, which is a part of Arendals, but has own brewing facilities in a separate building. (Visited March 3rd 2018 with the Norwegian RateBeer crew) |
60 /100 Vinmonopolet Arendal (Beer Store) VESTERVEIEN 4 The only place to get some ale above 4,7% in this area.
A quite ok and varied selection.
Suprisingly enough a lot of ciders. And also some sake. Not that usual.
Easy to find in the big shopping mall in the city centre. |
