“Oh man, pleasantly surprised here. Around 16 taps, good mix of local / WC stuff. And a great bottle selection, too. I prefer Bottleworks but if this was my only place, I could happily raid it all day and night. Some good rarities if you comb the shelves, which is really want you want from these places.“

“Rustic little shop with old wooden bar and several tables across form a couple of shelves and cooler. Eclectic selection that includes some old (and pricey) vintages.“

“This is an awesome place. Tons of great bottles, a big bar and seating area. Great service. The amount of bottles wan't insane but the quality was very high. Tons of mead and ciders. Great place.“

“A very old school type feel. A comfortable taproom that feels like home. Onsite brewery that you practically walk through to get to the patio seating if the weather is nice. Today’s visit was early in the day, and the rain was coming down, so it was the quiet, small taproom version of Big E, which was nice. We were the first people there, and the dozen or so people that came in after us were all greeted by the staff by name, so definitely a local favorite. a dozen beers on tap, and a solid food, though slightly limited food lineup that features unique versions of typical pub grub. Service was great, but with just us and a few others coming and going for growler fills, it wasn’t too hard for them to keep an eye on us. A couple TV’s happening around the taproom. Very isolated brewery, so this is a place that I go to as my one place to grab a beer and a bite after some other activity. I’ve been a half dozen times over the last few years and I haven’t had a bad experience.“

“Visited here in mid August ’16 while in the area for vacation. About on par with other Total Wines I have been to across the country, At least four aisles of beer to choose from. Like most TWs a whole aisle full of craft singles on one side and common imports on the other. Solid selection of nothing but seasonals which was nice. Overall, several hundred singles - which is what I am looking for when on the road. Solid retailer, decent prices, nice friendly service“

“Visited here for a late night dinner while in the Seattle area for vacation. Corporate-type gourmet burger place, nice decor, friendly, attentive service. Have about 20 beers on tap, a majority of them are local craft They have rotating brewers of the week and the prices are lower for these. Solid menu, excellent burgers, Not a beer geek destination, but a good place to grab a belly filling meal.“

“What a kickass place that I’m surprised I never stumbled upon before now. Big selection that is very well-chosen, including a great mix of locals, Belgian and Euro imports. Good selection of ciders and meads as well. Plus they have a taproom right next to it with a pretty good selection and does small pours. Service was very friendly and chatty. Highly recommended. I will be back.“

“Perhaps the pinnacle of strip mall culinary technology. Along with its sister store, Azul, Indigo is cranking out a lot of decent food and drink in a welcoming atmosphere.

If you’re from up here, you know this place just kind of popped out of the ground at some point in the not-too-distant past. I can’t even remember what was here before, but this little shopping enclave certainly represents a not-insignificant effort by a high-speed construction crew. There are tons of stores in this giant parking lot...there’s even a medical clinic. What there isn’t, though, on a typical Friday night, is a heck of a lot of parking. But ’s OK. You’ll get a spot.

Inside, it gets busy, too. But it’s pretty big in here! Dozens of tables in the bar and in the dining rooms. There’s a line of stools at the bar, and, truth be told, they really do try to make the bar the focal point of the room, and they put some sincere effort against that. There’s polished dark wood, there’s some cool custom metal fabrication that looks like long blades of grass and pussywillows. There’s plenty of room for the tenders to operate, and plenty of room for the full coterie of cocktail equippage, along with a couple dozen beer faucets.

I wouldn’t say that there’s much of a wine list, but the beer list is for real--two dozen good kegs from all over north america and europe. The cocktail program seemed flowing with serious intent--dude was lining up squads of mixed shots for us (gratis! unannounced! cool!), and mixing all different kinds of muddles and concoctions the entire time we sat there. In my case, if there’s more than one type of liquid in the glass, I know nothing about it and am not drinking it, by and large, but I could tell the cocktail fans in our group and nearby were clearly enjoying themselves. And the beers were well cared-for and poured with knowledge by people who care.

I only tried the meatloaf, but I’d put that meatloaf against any in town, save for Hale’s in Fremont. Mushroom-bacon gravy on the loaf is full of win. The vegetables were nothing special but the texture was the right contrast tot the loaf. The prices were reasonable, and the service was always friendly and fun. I’m very, very glad to have this place at my disposal here in the northern provinces.“

“What a hidden gem. Looks are very deceiving. Service is key with geeks who are friendly and a local crowd that will undoubtedly want to chat about what you are drinking. Selection is pretty big and very well curated, especially if you like interesting Spanish ciders and Mead. For geeks and run by geeks makes me very happy. Stop in and buy lots so they stay in business. By the way they are also a tap room that does samples.“

“Pretty typical Whole Foods layout and selection, perhaps a bit smaller than other Seattle-area locations. Prices are a bit high but not unreasonable. Some intriguing selections and fresh, new beers to try.“

“Big box alcohol and drinks store, huge selection of mildly-curated beers on huge warehouse shelves. Prices are usually fair, but make sure you check the freshness of the product. You can always find something a bit unusual or interesting in the selection here, its wide, but it isn’t the first place I’d look for something local or truly special.“

“Right now this is a converted mini-mart that has an amazing cigar selection and some promise in the beer aisle. Their plans are already in motion to bring it way up. On the outside, it’s nothing special--a pretty beat-up local independent quick stop convenience store, kinda tatty. Lots of cigarette posters and whatnot, lottery tickets right inside the door. It’s right on 164th, just at the east edge of Martha Lake. The sign sort of implies that there’s a mini-mart AND a cigar store in this parking lot, but they are one and the same. Inside there are about a dozen beer coolers along the back wall. Most of them as of June 14 are full of macro-industrial lagers, but two of them showed some interesting 6ers and bombers. Nothing rare or exotic, but some nice beers. Lots of industrial-size wineries are represented as well. There are a couple aisles of the usual snacks and sweets, all mass-produced. But in back, things start to get interesting. There are some nice tables, and off to one side, there’s a big bar which will soon have 20 good taps. Judging by the success he had running Super Deli Mart in West Seattle, he should be able to get all kinds of interesting kegs. There’s also a walk-in humidor the size of an apartment kitchen. The floors are linoleum tile, but the walls and door are nice cedar. And they have TONS of good cigars in there; prices are OK. The staff are really nice kids, and this place is bound to get busy as soon as the kegs start showing up (and word gets around about the stogies). This place will be a bustling little mecca before you know it.“

“There’s a lot to like about this place. The selection and prices are both really good, though they don’t quite cross over into specialty territory. You’re just here to shop, so those two things are all that really matters. It’s not that hard to get to; pretty close to the freeway. Decent amount of parking. Plenty of shopping carts, nice clean building. As of this writing, it’s newly installed (in existing construction), so everything inside still feels clean and nice. It’s relatively easy to find what you need once you’re in the right section--the types of wine and the types of liquor are all well curated. Getting from one section to another within the store isn’t always the most predictable journey, but that’s OK. The place is huge, and you know they want you to zig zag around in here. They’re really tough on distributors and producers because they can buy in such bulk. So they don’t tend to get a lot of the dearly beloved specialty releases, but they DO get tons and tons of good choices, usually in every format bottle available. And if you’re shopping for a wine or spirits geek, you can probably find them something--something good for every day, at least, if not a crown jewel for the cellar or anything like that. Their buying power allows them to set pretty good prices. You will find occasional sales at smaller shops that easily beat prices here, but if you just need to pick up some stuff, this is a fairly practical place to shop for sure. Keep in mind that there’s tax added to the sticker price--they show the final amount in smaller print under the "sale" price on the price tags on each shelf. It’s a lot of tax, generally speaking, so it’s worth keeping in mind. The service here ranges from some helpful and nice kids who can give you straight answers about what’s in the store, all the way down to sullen and withdrawn mouth-breathers. One classic goofball got me coming and going last night; he was re-stocking shelves and dragged his warehouse cart past me so slowly that I just had to stand there like I was a car at a railroad crossing. By way of acknowledging my presence, he ducked his head and made a sound like "uuuuurrrrhhhh," which I assume meant "oh, excuse me, I should have let you slip past before I turned down this aisle." Then guess who’s at the register? Spivey again, with a pleasant "nnnnrrrrggg" as he handed me my receipt. I assume "nnnnrrrrggg" was his way of saying "thanks for shopping here. Have a great night, and happy holidays!"“

“Located in a commercial/industrial area, this place has a run-down locals vibe. 12 beers on tap when I went, most of which were pretty average / weak quality. Service was sub-par too -- took a while to get noticed, to get the bill, etc. I’d give this place a miss if you’re on the fence.“

“This is a cool up-and-coming place, and my rating will likely increase over time. They have 20 taps and an ever-increasing bottle selection. The bottles they do have are high-quality, and some are quite hard to find. Staff are friendly and willing to chat beer any time. Don’t let the "convenience store" part as you walk in fool you - this is a beer nerd spot. Really looking forward to seeing how this place grows...“

“In a small commercial strip this local has a comfortable well worn vibe. Not very big, but it seems the bartender knew everyone. Service was good, they know their beer and other locals quite well. Good selection of beers and a good sampler tray available. Beer was decent, but nothing that great. Food was pub fare but looked good and was well priced. A decent place, but not enough to want me to come back.“

“A convenience store like exterior that had me confused and puzzled for a minute. Walk in and a mish mash of head shop, convenience store, taco hut and craft beer bar/bottle shop. Large and quite good selection of beers, 20 taps with growler fills and a bar with some tables. Awkward space but quality products at decent prices. A good stop if you are around.“

“Sort of a Beer Revolution without the outside. Tons of beers and ciders. Lots of bar and table space. Exterior is strip mall storefront, interior is like a pub/bar with immense amounts of coolers and shelfs. On Saturday evening it seemed to be a local. Lucky those living nearby.“

“I haven’t been in a Total Wine for very long time; this place is a huge supermarket for alcoholic beverages; a lot of beers to choose from, nothing rare (I actually remember a better selection in the other one). There is a growler station, with many taps, but the tasting is unfortunately limited to only a few hours, Friday and Saturday if I remember. No assistants around the aisles when I visited, I had to go across all the warehouse to find somebody. I’m not totally convinced by the sorting either.“

“A new offering from the guy associated with Super Deli Mart in West Seattle. He is just starting out but the place looks great. I look for him to build up his offerings as time goes by. Hey, he even got a hold of some Midnight Sun Bore Tide and was selling it, before the distributor realized he had made a mistake and that all cases were supposed to go to a special event in Oregon. Look for this place to grow. It is in the old Martha Lake Grocery, and they have 20 taps, and some great looking wood tables. ...... Updated Review: Just spoke to the owner and this guy knows his beer. He has greatly expanded since I first went in, and he is planning on expanding even further. He wants to be at 1000 different beers by the end of 2015 and 1500 by 2016. He has a good relationship with many distributors, and brewers. He has had some difficulty with the Snohomish distributors, as they made him start from stratch again, eventhough he was hugely successful for the King County distributors with Super Deli Mart. He is doing great things with his growler fills and tap list. I have bumped up my score, and I am sure that he will become more popular as his time in the North End grows.“

“For being, essentially, a grocery store, this Fred Meyer does a pretty good job of stocking some interesting beer. Nothing particularly rare, but some decent finds nonetheless. I wouldn’t exactly call this a "beer destination", but if you need to pick up some craft beer and you’re close, this place will do the trick (though you’re better off heading a couple miles up the road to Special Brews). Decent selection of mixed packs, though, which is helpful.“

“This is a great Asian market - just not a great beer destination. I stopped in here on a whim to see what they have and I was somewhat disappointed. They have a small handful of craft options which you can find in any grocery store, a weird assortment of macro crap (odd malt liquors and whatnot), a handful of Asian macro crap, and maybe about a dozen sakes. If you’re looking for Asian beer or sake specifically, this isn’t too bad of a place to try out, if you’re in the area. But don’t come here for the beer.“

“Weird little place I stumbled across by accident. Saw they had 22 taps (which all looked like craft options), so I had to give it a shot. Food was solid, and the service was really nice. Beer options were quite good for a restaurant like this - nothing rare or over-the-top awesome, but solid craft options, emphasizing local brews. I was able to find at least half a dozen new ones for me (which is hard, these days), so I was ecstatic about that.“

“Total Wine: Where good hops go to die. They had a 15% off sale, so I had to stop in and pick up a bunch of frequently rated beers that I’d missed out on. They have a great selection, no doubt. But they don’t move their beer fast enough, so you need to be careful about what you buy. Strong stouts, Belgians, barley wines, are fine. IPAs and related styles are awful. I picked up a Port Shark Attack that had been sitting on the shelf for a year and a half. Totally unacceptable if you know your beer.“

“My wife was convinced I was leading her the wrong way when we were going here. Hard to find, but an interesting place. Nice selection for a brewpub, with a good mix of styles. A couple different fruit options for those so inclined, with some solid variability otherwise. I wasn’t terribly impressed with any of their beers, but they were solid drinkable options. It gets busy, and they seem to grossly understaff servers, so things are really slow here. Not bad, just not the best brewpub I’ve been to.“

“Yep. This is my new bottle shop. No doubt. Great selection of bottles, about half of which are in fridges, so you can always get something cold. There is a really interesting mix available, and it’s going to take me a while to work through the standard inventory, which is nice. The draught selection is quite varied, and ever changing, which is great to see. There are frequent takeovers/themes, which keeps it interesting. I’ll definitely be back many many times.“

“Unassuming location south of Alderwood Mall. First thing I noticed was that fantastic wood sign handing on the facade; the place would look awfully drab without a sign of that caliber out front. Interior is nice but not stunning. Small bar with a decent set of handles. I would not suggest bringing large (8+) groups here at dinner. I hear the food is good here but I was there for an event which was catered so was privy to just their drinks *poor me*. Got a chance to walk around the brewing equipment which was fan-fucking-tasitc as I’ve never got that kind of access having always visited breweries and done the standard ’tout-group’ experience. The beer garden outside is a little drab. Oh, and I should mention that the rootbeer is great also.“

I was 40 beers in when they told me even if I finish the 99 they wouldn’t let me in the Mug club because someone in the club didn’t like me. I never had any problems with anyone there as far as I know. I wish they were honest about their Mug club in the first place before I wasted all my money there.
