“Was in the area so I stopped in. Big place. Beer is the first aisle, the coolers in the back, and a single BYO rack kinda abandoned near the front. The top of the beer shelves in the main aisle are mostly large format singles. Selection is decent with some less common stuff. Prices are a little out of sync with the market, some more expensive, some cheaper than average. It probably all evens out. I was promptly offered assistance in the beer aisle. Overall not worth going out of your way but decent stop if you happen to be nearby.“

Hale House (Restaurant)

“A nice restaurant for tasty burgers, and pork and chicken sandwiches that also has an OK-but-short tap list and more-than-respectable bottle list. Good wine and cocktail selections. Small bar, perhaps 15 stools, that’s wedged into the front of the restaurant. There are so few southwest suburban Milwaukee restaurants even trying to offer a decent craft list that this one merits mention for respectably trying.“

“Dont really find Consumer Beverages worth the trip. Its fine if you live in the area. But there are plenty of better shops in the area.“

“from the time you walk on the store it is apparent that this business caters to the wine customer. decent selection of beers from craft to import but it’s all based on the salesman’s aggressiveness. pricing is in line with the Discount’s and Otto’s of Milwaukee. they will not get the one off’s and limited production beers in the quantity that say Discount Liquor will. staff is young and not very knowledge further than the brand provided shelf talker. owner doesn’t value his beer aisle which is made clear if you ever approach him about a beer product. discount is 10 minutes away, make the drive.“

“They have a great selection, and they are priced very reasonably. The owner who works there is not helpful whatsoever. He will take your information and tell you that he will call you when your favorite beer comes in, but he definitely will not. Only once has someone been able to answer my question. Like I said, decent selection if you know what you are looking for, just don’t go in there expecting to get any help.“

“Milwaukee’s southwestern suburbs are pretty bleak for decent beer stores, but Consumer Beverages is a respectable stop. The space is neon-light bright and the aisles are just wide enough for two carts to pass (no place for a puffy jacket in winter!). Selection is better than the nearby grocery stores and prices are reasonable.“

“Store is nothing spectacular to look at but the beer selection is decent. There was one cooler of build your own in back, mostly with local stuff. Good selection of both foreign singles and domestic six packs and bombers with many different brands. Ughsmash mentioned the stock didn’t rotate as it should and I would have to agree with him. There were many fall and winter beers left from last year as well as stuff I’ve never seen sprinkled throughout. The employees were friendly and were able to answer the two questions I asked. While not on the level with Three Cellars or Discount, I still found this a decent store.“

“This was an interesting place.. it’s medium-sized and the decor doesn’t look to have been updated since the 70s. They had some newer beer releases (such as the current Celebration Ale, Goose BCS, and other winter stuff), but they also had some really old, neglected stuff (Vapeur d’Antan, 750s of DFH Midas Touch, Maredsous 8 with an old label that was BB 2005). Service was good when I had a question about a beer. The stock didn’t appear to rotate as it should, but I still dug this place.“

“I’ve been in this store perhaps a half dozen times, and while it is definitely better than average, it is not anywhere near the caliber of places like Discount, Murray’s, and Breeze-Thru. They have about 40 single bottles, and a decent selection of six-packs, but no 12 oz singles. The six-packs may offer an item or two you would not find at the other stores I mentioned, but the singles are definitely nothing special. Ambiance is similarly not exciting...it is a suburban strip mall with flourescent lighting and a torn-up parking lot. As for service, I’ve never had any attention paid to me, and the only time I’ve spoken to the staff (or vice versa) is with the cashier when I check out. This is not a knock-your-socks-off kind of store, but it is a decent beer store on my way home, so I imagine I’ll keep coming here, but I wouldn’t call it a beer destination going far out of your way for.“

“Looks like just another hole in the wall liquor store with minimal selection. Turns out they have a great selection of imports and micros. All the locals and a good lot of singles as well. Price is competitive and the atmosphere is a great neighborhood feel.“

“The closest good liquor store to where I used to live, just down the street from "downtown" Hales Corners in between Edgerton and Grange roads. Good selection that seems to be growing every time I’m in there - they have all the local beers and a fairly hefty selection of micros throughout the country. Numerous European singles and imports available as well. Price is very competitive and lower than most stores in the greater Milwaukee area. Mike - the owner - will do all he can to order in your requests.“
