“My wife suggested we go here as she was making arrangements for our Wales trip. We managed to hit here midday on Saturday. The town was bustling with activity, the shop has a handful of customers. Once you check out the selection of Purple Moose brews you can step down into a vast selection of other Welsh breweries beers. Probably the best selection I have seen in person at a breweries own shop. The service was very friendly and they were COVID-19 compliant.“

“Cafe and bar doing great business from lots of day trippers either enjoying a trip on the tourist oriented light railway that starts here, or simply the atmosphere of the place. You can sit out on the platform if there's room, but if not the interior is much larger than you might expect so you should be able to find somewhere to sit and sup. There's a lot of tea and coffee ordered in here as it does look like a tea room, but the decent row of cask ales has a very good focus on local beers, including seasonal offerings.“

“Accessed on the platform in the station house, the pub seems to have a lot more regulars than train users in here, but then again the trains are not to frequent in this part of the world. It does have a somewhat cafe style feel to the place, but alcoholic drinks are the main focus in here with sports on the big screen a close second! The limited selection of cask ales on offer included something local, but nothing new for me in here.“

“Middle of the High Street pub facing a small park which was labelled as a Conwy Brewery pub on Ratebeer when I visited it, but was definitely a Purple Moose going concern. Their beers were lined up on a row of cask ales to the left hand side of the bar, which pretty much greets you as you enter. Seats in this part are against the front wall, but there's a larger open area to the side of the service area, and the style of the place is traditional. Had a mix of regulars and a couple of specials from this local brewer. Bottles are available here, or down the far end of the main street at its own bottle shop.“

“At the top end of the High Street by the roundabout, it’s the last building on the right, painted in the purple of Purple Moose Brewery... and despite all this I walked past it by 5 yards! The shop unit is neatly laid out with the half dozen bottled ales from Purple Moose on tables in the centre of the room. The shelves against the left wall carry guest bottles ales with plenty of Welsh choices, and the right hand side has various beer related Purple Moose paraphernalia.“

“Visited 27/07/17 on Hols. Had my 2 children with me, Selection of Purple Moose beers was good with bottles too, and 1 real cider on cask. Food was great locally sourced and own chef adds a nice touch. Well recommended.“

“This pub is now owned by Purple Moose. We came here to cash in our beer tickets from the brewery tour and were pleasantly surprised by the place. Rather traditional looking outside but the inside is quite modern in style. Had something like 6 Purple Moose beers on tap and most others in bottles. I tried the Antelered IPA and really liked it, we also had the Elderflower Ale and the Chocolate Moose (bottle), which were very enjoyable also. Food was good, we had a soup each (tomato and basil) plus the anti pasti plate and the steak strips. Everything was really tasty and the prices were very reasonable. Service was also really friendly and efficient. Definitely worth a look (particlularly if you like PM beers).“

“We did a tour at the brewery before coming here. Brewery tour is Wednedsays at 10:30 only and costs 7.50. We were able to sample something like 8 beers at the brewery and the one beer that they did not have open there (Decadence, a limited edition) was available to try here. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The tour was very reasonably priced and the beers are value for money also. All beers that we tried were of a decent standard. Particularly liked the Elderflower Ale. Note that the shop has beers from other Welsh breweries also. Well worth a visit to both brewery and shop.“

“Smart new shop opened by Purple Moose Brewery on the main shopping street in Porthmadog, between the main line and steam railway stations. Has the full range of bottled Purple Moose beers including some specials plus an excellent range of Welsh Micro Breweries. Well worth a visit as there are plenty of unusual beers available.“

“Proper pub situated right on the Southbound platform of the mainline station in Porthmadog, very handy whilst awaiting your train. Seems to cater for the sports-fan with televisions showing obscure sports. The operation appears to be run by one lady who keeps everything under control. The beer range is pretty standard nationals with a guest. It’s in the 2016 GBG.“

“Popular and friendly pub inthe centre of town towards the steam railway station. Conwy have their name on the pub and seem to have taken the lead in this place but do bring in guest ales. Popular for both food and beer, we had a chance meeting with GuideDogSaint in here and a good old natter over the large, impressive tables. The beer quality was a little lacking but a good place to visit.“

“Platform bar cum cafe where both the Ffestiniog Steam Railway and The Welsh Highland Railways meet. It’s busy, a little like a school canteen on one end but a little more relaxed at the other. There is a reasonable choice of local beers to go at. The best option in Porthmadog imo.“

“Newly opened bottle shop in Porthmadog, primarily for local brewery Purple Moose, but also selling a range of beers from other Welsh breweries. Prepare to get your tick on in here, as there are probably around 15-20 brewers represented from across Wales - Crafty Devil, Nant, Great Orme, Montys, Wild Horse, Tiny Rebel etc... plus some ciders from Gwynt y Ddraig, Pant Du and Apple County (Ty Gwyn) and a few Welsh meads. Handily, there are also a selection of Purple Moose beers to try before buying. Nice little shop that will set you up well for campsite / beach beers for your trip to this corner of Wales.“

“Quickly checked this out as it was mentioned on here. If the tired old pub blackboards and Sky TV posters weren’t enough to keep me away, the depressing twiggy bland real ales on tap did the trick.“

“Located on the main high street in Porthmadog, not far from the old steam railway. Recently taken over by Purple Moose, Great Orme, Nant and Conwy breweries who seem to be collectively setting up a network of pubs in North Wales to sell their wares. On first impressions it doesn’t appear much has been spent on renovation, it’s a traditionally unfussy Welsh real ale pub with worn interior. On draft was a couple of real ales, Montys stout on keg, some bland lagers and a choice of 4 bagged ciders (Gwynt and Farmer Jims). A selection of bottles from the owner breweries await your gaze in the fridge. Welsh crisps too, which were quite nice. Bear in mind they stop serving food at 2pm tho. Voted CAMRA regional pub of the year, and although the owners’ beers aren’t too exciting it’s probably the best option in this town.“

“Station bar on the Ffestiniog steam railway. Nice large layout for diners and drinkers. Tables on the platform so you can watch the choo choos go by and look out over the bay.“
