62 /100 821 BAKER STREET A spacious brewpub in downtown Cranbrook. Service was reasonably quick, food was all right. Beers were hit and miss but generally trended above average. Prices were just okay. It's not a bad stop in Cranbrook, certainly not a mandatory stop, but a great break for lunch. |
60 /100 821 BAKER STREET Stopped in for lunch on a Monday not long after they reopened after COVID. They were still doing renovations so it felt like a work in progress. They have a special vegan menu which lured us in to eat. 10 beers on tap, with 6 year-round offerings and a few more seasonals including a bourbon barrel scottish ale. Flights of 4 x 5 oz for $6.25++, a great deal. Beer quality was pretty mediocre, with their standard scottish ale being the highlight. The food was quite good on the other hand -- tasty wraps, solid portions, though a little on the high side price-wise. Friendly service. Worth stopping when passing through Cranbrook. |
74 /100 821 BAKER STREET This was a stop on our Canadian Vacation to get ready for a run up into the Banff/Lake Louise/Jasper area. Located downtown and it was a bit annoying to have to pay 3 Canadian dollars just to park. I wonder how many tourists the City of Cranbrook drives away with their parking meters. Though we had a disabled parked placard they are not honored at parking meters like they are in the USA and handicapped parking places seem non-existent. Anyway enough about that...the food was excellent and the beer quite good as well. They did serve flights and I got one of everything..seven beers. The pilsner was very good and the Porter simply excellent. Worth a visit if you are in the area. |
68 /100 Fire Hall Kitchen & Tap (Bar) 37 11TH AVE S 2018-09-20. Converted fire hall is nice enough, some seating outside would have been a good option in warmer weather. 20+ taps of local craft beers is less impressive than it seems once I start looking stuff up - it's mostly just okay / accessible BC craft with a few highlights. Food varied from pretty tasty to a bit meh at our table. Server was friendly but kept disappearing. I'm not sure they were expecting to be this busy on a Thursday night? It was fine but Heid Out was quieter and a little more relaxed for dinner for my taste. |
74 /100 821 BAKER STREET 2018-09-18. Dinner was good. I had a tasty beef dip with a salad and a delicious blueberry ginger dressing. Other people's food seemed very good as well. Beers were decent with about 6-8 of their own beers available IIRC. Decor is simple, upscale pub. Server is friendly and knowledgeable about the beers and the food.

100 /100 821 BAKER STREET First of all, the food was absolutely delicious! We began to sample a few different beers when Jordan, the master brewer, came to give us a tour. It was amazing! He definitely knows his stuff. Every beer that we tried tasted great! Not to mention, the porter was the best I had ever tried! The entire staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Keep up the great work guys! |
74 /100 821 BAKER STREET It looks like a seedy bar with the darkened windows outside, but when you step in it turns into a high end bistro with a separate dinning and pub area. Service was good, but not really beer focused. It is an odd place as the beer plays a second fiddle to the food. Beer was pretty decent considering and there are flights and tasters available. Food was pricey but nice quality. A solid stop that is a nice change from the dumpy/barn/stark brewpubs. |
64 /100 821 BAKER STREET Stopped by during a getaway to Banff. Basic modern looking brew pub. Decent pub grub, good service with average beer. |
64 /100 821 BAKER STREET Visited on 2014 road trip. It’s a regular town pub, quite large, friendly, unpretentious, with lots of windows and a good vibe. Had some alright pub grub. The beers were average but they have a decent variety. Great for a pit stop. |
56 /100 821 BAKER STREET Big open space, modern. Menu was pub food. Service was fine. The beers were mostly not that great. The brewery is small and I don’t doubt that’s part of it. But they have the look of a serious brewpub. Right now, the only game in town but hopefully they sort the beers out in the future because the Kootenays needs a flagship brewpub. |
