“It's a brewery. They make beer. It's on the main road, off the Row, so doesn't have that "cool Row" vibe, and drinking in the parking lot doesn't really change that. I haven't had a lot of their stuff, but haven't been knocked out by anything yet. So this is a "jury's still out" kind of thing for me. Closest place in PoMo to the Skytrain, but least convenient if you rode in (my normal means the past couple of years).“

“The experience hasn't changed all that much since they opened, but as everybody knows they went from making mediocre lagers to being one of the most exciting breweries in BC. I go for the beer, straight up. That they have El Cacto only at the brewery, but forever, makes me happy. But this is your mandatory stop on Brewer's Row.“

“Never rated this place, which means its chance to get a good score has passed. Parkside had its moments, and can still be a fun place for a beer if it's warm and there's a friendly dog hanging out nearby. But neither of those things speaks to the establishment itself. Parkside's beer list has become really lazy - same stuff all the time, not a single beer worth making the stop for. It's like somewhere along the way, somebody sucked the life out of the brewhouse. They stopped having fun, and it shows. Look, there's five breweries on the row, and another around the corner. I can't do all five. If I don't have a reason - and I haven't for probably 3 years now - I won't stop.“

“Visited Nov. 2020. Second stop in Port Moody. Place was busy even during the pandemic. Less than 10$ for a flight. Beers are OK , nothing special . Big patio outside. No food.“

“Visited Nov 2020. Best place in greater YVR! Fantastic sours, dessert stouts, IPAs...all spot on. 2 to 3$ per taste. Food truck in front. A must on Brewers Alley.“

“Not a bad interior, though no one wants to sit indoors these days so their saving grace is that they've turned their parking lot into a big patio. Great for everyone, unless you want to park or if it's raining (like all the time for Summer 2020). Beers are average to above average and this place is in fact slightly closer to the skytrain than the other breweries on the strip since you don't have to walk over that overpass. Flights available, service was pleasant. Worth making a part of your Port Moody circuit whilst in the area.“

“The first Port Moody brewery to open that's not on Brewer's Row. Moderately-sized interior, with a nice patio out front. 10 beers on tap when I visited, with flights of 4 x 4 for $7++, a good deal. Beer quality is pretty middling, with no ambitious styles and nothing really standing out. Solid service. Pretty mediocre brewery.“

“A typical trendy taco spot that is pricey and just OK. The craft beer selection is small but decent, but doesn't warrant a specific trip, especially so close to so many breweries. Overall the typical overpriced trendy vancouver spot with a better beer list.“

“A far less formal setup than the other tasting rooms along the street, this place looks like they just threw some tables into the middle of their brewery... because that's what they did. Live music on a saturday afternoon was weird and unnecessary. Selection is pretty good, they have some decent beers on tap and the snacks were tasty enough and not too overpriced. Probably my second favourite on the row.“

“Standard tasting room atmosphere with a few fewer beers on tap than the other places along the street. Service was quick enough, most beers are okay. Interior seemed noisier than the others, was hard to carry on a conversation.“

“Cavernous open tasting area with plenty of styles on tap. The quality isn't as good as Twin Sails next door but there are some far worse breweries in the metro area. Not a bad place for a pint or three.“

“A pretty good tasting room on the brewery row, the beer quality is good and there is decent enough seating. They do some good quality beers so this is a good first stop, and maybe last stop since some of them are pretty heavy though good.“

“Nice newish looking brewery on brewer alley in Port Moody. We were here is August so there was a large biergarten out back with games and stuff, plenty of seating. Tried all the beers offered, nothing stellar but rather good quality all around (except for the gose that was a miss). Good place!“

“Came here as a third and last stop on brewers alley because we still had some thirst. Bad place to quench it. Pretty much the same ambiance as the other places on the street except for the beer quality is crap. This is the new look at us we're micro swill. No.“

“By far the best brewery on brewers alley in Port Moody. Yes, it's a ways away from Vancouver center but the skytrain will take you directly there, barely any walking involved. The breweries on this street are breweries, tasting rooms and lots of drinking but food happens in the food trucks parked out front. The ambiance is really nice, friendly folk all around. Definitely a worthy stop, one of my favorites from our Vancouver trip actually!“

Taps and Tacos (Restaurant)

“Bright place, small surface but with a mezzanine, very modern and young. 6 BC tap beers and 15-20 cans/bottles, mostly regular stuff from Port Moody (and regulars from Four Winds, Fuggles & Warlock), also cocktails. Beside tacos they also have ceviche, burritos and some other latino inspired food; having tried a few tacos, they are ok.“

2018, 4-7-14-na-10-17
Impressive progression for this brewery, they left the "all Lager" concept behind and jumped on the bandwagon of juicy IPA, milkshake IPAs, barrel aged stuff. Their products are among the best in the Province, they also have a very dynamic production, almost never a fail, and their second anniversary party was the best beer event in Vancouver organized by a brewery, ever; they also brew top notch Imperial Stouts.
2015, 3-7-10-na-7-11
Visited on the opening day; the taproom is a medium sized area open to the brewery; simply and tastefully decorated. They have a strange concept, at least for now, just German styles, I don't think this will pay too much; but at least already from the beginning the beers are not bad at all, with the Pilsner being the best one of the 4. Like every taproom, they have some sausage on sale, and on selected days there may be a food truck; it's literally next door from Yellow Dog, so maybe one food truck for both. There is WiFi.“

2018With the other better breweries opening on the Row, need to bring these ratings down, as Moody is probably the worse of the lot. More beers on tap than Parkside, but the risk that they are bad is higher. 3-7-10-na-6-10
2014The taproom takes some space in the brewery warehouse, and the brewing equipment is completely exposed, yet I have the impression that they did a very good job to design it; spacious and clean toilets; wifi available; 6-7 beers available, but apparently there is some above-the-average rotation; nice music. They fill growlers and sell some bomber and large cans too.
If I lived out of Vancouver, I would be happy to have a place like this near home. 4-7-11-na-8-14“

“Medium large taproom in a warehouse-like environment with no atmosphere; more than the other breweries on this row Parkside seem to appeal to families (and kids); 6 to 8 beers on tap, quality is usually mediocre, some beers are better some are worse, very random, they also don't particularly nail one style. Has value in keeping people away from the better breweries.“

“Great place to eat just off Brewers Row. Excellent selection of tacos and burritos, including vegetarian and vegan options. Go during happy hour or on Tuesday and get $2 tacos. 6 beers on tap, mostly from the PoMo breweries. Service is quick and friendly. Logical place to eat out here when doing a brewery crawl.“

“A very open and exciting looking brewery with sexy neon signage and a large patio. Service is self serve and it is in a bit of a fast food style that leaves a bit to be desired. Order here, pick up here, next. Decent selection of beer, flights, but mediocre quality. A good location on brewer’s row, but the least interesting of the bunch.“

“Another brewery on the now craft beer Mecca of a street in Port Moody, becoming the 4th. It’s the first brewery you see after coming over the railway overpass and around the corner, with being neon lights. Expansive tasting room, bigger than the others, with plenty of bar seating. When I visited, just four house beers on tap plus some guest ones. $2 tasters are a good deal, but the half pints and pints ($4.50 and $7) are rather steep. Friendly and quick service. Beer is decent, nothing memorable. Worth a stop when hitting the breweries out here.“

“Nov 2023 review: They went from 1) making boring German-style lagers, to 2) making mostly hazies and occasionally some of the interesting strong ales in the city -- including some of the best ever BA impie stouts put out in BC, to 3) churning out ~95% pedestrian beers not even done all that well, and almost entirely ditching the ambitious beers. Like many breweries in BC that once did something interesting, this is a sad story -- the beer geek will find not much of interest here these days, but it's still perhaps the best place on Brewers' Row (in Port Moody), which says more about the state of BC beer than it does about Twin Sails. July 2016 review: Another place on the same street as the other Port Moody breweries, directly next to Yellow Dog. Nice interior space, with the tasting room area directly next to the brewing facilities. Flights of 4 available for $7, or single 4 oz. pours for $2. They specialize in German-style beers, but they sometimes brew other styles. Beer quality is fairly average so far, but they show promise. Staff are friendly and quick. A worthwhile stop when out in Port Moody visiting the [currently four] breweries.“

“Another working brewery but a nice large tasting room with lots of parking. Staff are nice and they have detailed notes on the beers under the counter if you are interested. Beer flights are reasonable and pretty average. They are new, so hopefully they continue to get better.“

“Nice to have high ceilings, but the place is too dark, I feel like being in a cave. The menu is nicelyh printed, which means you never get up-to-date information, and the bartender has some kind of pushy attitude, kind of "tell me if you want blond or dark and I pick a beer", that may work with some customers, but then why do you bother having many beers on tap if you can’t properly communicate it to the customers. I don’t feel I’d like to come back. Said so, I don’t think there is any beer that you don’t have in Vancouver.
WiFi: yes.“

“The space for drinking a beer is small, but in the summer you can enjoy a very nice biergarten in the back. The beers are quite interesting and they keep brewing experiments, not just "infusions". I got some nice talk with the owner (?).“

“It occupies a larger surface than Jake’s, but it seems to me that the beer selection is less interesting; very focused on local beers, very few from the US, almost nothing from EU. There are a few oldies also here, but they are less interesting.

“Big selection of beers, probably the most interesting in Port Moody; they have a few oldies, which means maybe they are not fresh but you may find something that is no longer available in Vancouver. Prices are not better than in most shops in Vancouver. The beers don’t seem to be organized in any particular way, but they are not scattered around the shop so they are easy to look at. Helpful service.
Tax included in price tag: yes.“

“The interior seems recently renovated; wannabe cozy, but the TV screens cover every surface available, the natural light is absent, the ceiling seems low. There are 20 taps, the macro stuff is in the front, the micro is more hidden, but the beer list should be up to date; nothing rare, obviously with something from local breweries.
WiFi: yes.
Single small pour: no.
Beer flight: no.
Clear glass size: yes on menu
Clear information: yes, ABV and IBU“

“Bit of an odd vibe in here. I mean, most of the beers are pretty good, so you definitely want to pop in. But there’s just a certain standoffishness about the staff that is a little weird. I don’t get that "too good for you vibe" in the city’s hipster bars, so why am I getting it here?“

“Your standard tap room. Good service and atmosphere. I like the beers here as well. They’re going to need longer opening hours - you get there at last call and the place is packed. I like the place, and I guess I’m not the only one.“

“Big corporate pub. Pretty crowded. They have around fifty taps, though arguably there aren’t that many really unusual ones. Not a bad selection from the local breweries, though, so worth a stop if it’s later in the evening and those places are closed. Also, it’s the best tap selection in the surburbs so far.“

“Surprisingly excellent selection here, just minutes away from Yellow Dog and Moody Ales, including a great local selection and some imports that hang around longer here than the busier spots in Vancouver. Prices are perhaps a touch on the higher side, but they take the CAMRA discount. Super friendly lady offered helps us find what we wanted. A good place to stop in the area.“

“Spacious tasting room that sort of blends into the brewing area, just a couple of blocks down the street from Yellow Dog. 6 beers on tap on my particular visit. $5 to sample 3, or $6 to sample 4. The ladies at the bar were extremely friendly, passionate and knowledgeable about their beer. Quality was hit or miss. Certainly a must hit when in the area. I’m sure they will only improve with time.“

“A very nice recreation of an English pub. Service was decent and off the bat offered samples. Selection was large but mainly safe bets and pseudo craft. They do have some Yellow Dog and Moody but they don’t offer flights. Food was decent, but a bit salty. A decent stop for lunch, but not for the geek.“

“A converted garage that is a bit rough around the edges. Working brewery and staff is pleasant but doesn’t really make the time for you. Selection is 4ish beers of their own which you can get in a paddle. Beers are hit or miss, but generally decent. A worthwhile stop if you are in the area.“

“A pretty nice and well thought out working brewery and tap room. Staff are part of the business and know their stuff, friendly and attentive. Only 4-5 of their own, but 1-2 are pretty good. “A pretty nice sized open store off the main drag. Manager is a beer geek who is happy to talk beer all day long. Selection is many locals, with quite a few hard to find ones that are not available and sold out elsewhere. Doesn’t follow the trends, just buys what he likes with a focus on BC. If you are in the area doing a brewery tour, this is a good stop.“

“Great addition to the local beer scene, and just a stone’s throw from fellow newcomer Yellow Dog. The staff and brewers here are warm and welcoming, and also forthcoming about current and future offerings. “Above-average ambiance for just a taproom, with a sweet leafy beer garden out back and tables inside. Service was kinda rude, but the beer is generally good. The smoked porter needs a lot more smoke, but the IPA is solid. This offers a good excuse to come out this way, it’s very scenic around here and you can make a day of it with another good brewery (Moody Ales) down the road and Bunzen Lake, etc nearby.“

“Awesome little place across from a park but in a little industrial park with quite poor parking options. Beer quality is surprisingly high, with 4 beers on tap when I went, all of which were great.
