70 /100 WEST STREET
“Visited on Friday 05/12/14 for a late lunch at 2.30pm. The Long Dock is located on the main street in the village that heads inland away from the coast road. The village itself is off the Loophead road and to put into context with the rest of the area a little over a one hour drive from Shannon airport, likely 45/50 minutes from Lisdoonvarna/The Burren. A typical 19th century Irish bar, the place seats about 60 or 70 and specialises in local seafood. Macro only on keg but a solid range of Irish micros in the bottle. All the bottles are displayed on the bar so you can pick them up and take a look and there is a ’craft beer’ fridge behind the bar containing them. Breweries represented included Franciscan Well, 8 Degrees, O’Haras and one or two others, at least 3 different stouts in the selection. Not a go to beer destination but if you’re in the area its a great drive, a great pub and fantastic seafood with the added bonus of what is likely the best beer selection in the surrounding 30 or so miles.“
