“Very easy to find near the railway and bus stations, this is a good place to sample 4-5 keg beers from the local Lough Gill Brewery. Decent food served all day, and there is also a restaurant upstairs.“

“One of the best traditional pubs with traditional music (each Tuesday evening and on special events also during the weekends) in Sligo. It is very laid back and old fashioned, but probably due to that really cozy and it is nice being there and listening o traditional music. Beer selection is okay, not that special, but the atmosphere outcounts it.“

“That is probably the pub with the youngest people all over Sligo; mostly visited by students on a night out. So the atmosphere is really busy and loud, it is hard to find a seat, sometimes even a "stand" and you have to wait until you can place your order. But therefore the drinks are really cheaps, shots and half pints going for 1 Euro during special events. Beer selection is average; here is nothing to enjoy, only to get drunk as soon as possible.“

“Fiddlers Creek is a nice little stylish pub situated just across of my favourite pub in Sligo -Garavogue- along the river. It has a decent food menue which offers traditional and international food for fair prices. Beer selection is mainstream with some local and seasonal ones. The atmosphere is -especially in the evening- very relaxed and cool.“

74 /100 JOHN F KENNEDY PARADE
“The Belfry is a place where you get three different locations. You have the choice of going to the Night Club, to the Restaurant or the the Bar. The Bar, Belfry, is really cozy and comfy with elegantly subdued lights, big sofas and a really cool old-fashioned interior. You get around 10 taps with lots of mainstream kind of beer, but also some nice Ales. Prices are moderate, not cheap but also not that expensive. Great location to start your evening.“

“This one is a really tradiotional and old-school pub in sligo. It offers tradiotional live folk music and some really good beers, but unfortunately nothing what finds its place outside the mainstream tastes. There are quite a few ales / beers on tap and some good bottles. The food is nice, traditional pub food with some extras. Nice pub and a real Irish hotspot in Sligo.“

Garavogue (Bar)
15-16 STEPHEN STREET
“The Garavogue is situated just beneath the Garavogue River in Sligo and offers a small but nice patio towards the river in summertime. It opens for breakfast all week and closes at 1 am during the weekends. There are some classic beers on tap, but more mainstream kind of beer plus some seasonal Ales every now and then. The food offer is great and ranges from salads to galway oysters and steak. The prices are okay, not that much of a bargain, but moderate. It is more a purist and comfortable bar / pub but in a posh but old-school way.“

Foley’s (Beer Store)
18 CASTLE STREET
“Only place in Sligo town with a decent beer selection. They stock some decent British beers and some ordinary Belgian stuff like Chimay, Westmalle, Hoeegarden. A few German beers. Overall, the only place to buy specialty beers in Sligo, but that isn’t saying much.“
