62 /100 401 MAIN ST. Not really true, since there was no ledge where you could step off into the void. A large older saloon type building on the main drag. Long serving bar and some restaurant tables, no outdoor area that I saw. Beers were pretty mediocre. Food was comfort food. Easily skipped. |
60 /100 401 MAIN ST. Nice little brew pub in the middle of nowhere. They were out of a few beers I wanted to try so most of the beers I tried were fruit beers. They were all really good except for the peach Fairy Dust. Otherwise all very clean and refreshing on a hot day. |
60 /100 413 MAIN STREET It seems that Cañon City is a bit far from the Colorado craft beer buzz. Tasty chili and burger and friendly service. 8 beers on tap, 2 of those their own (Broken Paddle and Big House Brown), others from big Colorado craft breweries. No flights. |
66 /100 Jewett’s Liquor (Beer Store) 121 N 16TH ST Decent selection of CO craft beers available as singles. Quite good liquor store in a small town. |
66 /100 413 MAIN STREET While the facade isn’t much to look at, the interior is pretty nice, open, and inviting. The bartender was very prompt, and while not talkative, was certainly helpful and friendly. The menu looked like a normal pub far, although the plates we saw looked pretty enticing. Standard $4-5 pints, and $2.50 half-pints, but sadly, no flights or tasters. The selection was poor, and clearly aimed at the non-craft drinker, with two described as ’light and drinkable’. Still, a fun place, if you’re in the area. |
50 /100 413 MAIN STREET Other than the word brewery out front you probably wouldn’t guess that the place was anything but just another greasy food pub. In addition to the three house beers, which were terrible, your options are Stella and Guinness. The Stout, Brown Ale and IPA each had pretty significant problems, such as autolyzed yeast and hard seltzer water carbonation. Bad beer, average food, poorly managed staff, and small town run down ambiance, sadly that’s enough to make me never return. |
70 /100 413 MAIN STREET On Main Street in Canon City, close to but not at the Gorge. Had a nice selection of 6 beers when we were there with a pretty good IPA. We ate appetizers and kids stuff which was all pretty good. Ambience is a bit old west with a 1980s feel. Worth a stop if your in the Canon City area. |
74 /100 Jewett’s Liquor (Beer Store) 121 N 16TH ST Good selection for where it is. |
