76 /100 45, RUE DES ROUYERS As far as I could tell, no beer is brewed here anymore, but it is still a nice pub with a good selection of especially Belgian beers and a very friendly, English-speaking staff. |
68 /100 Le Windsor (Bar) 17 QUAY DE LONDRES Located on the main quay on the bank of the Meuse, this spacious bar with a terrace outisde looks like a nice place to stop by if you are in town. The staff are very friendly and they know somehing about beer, too. The selection is okay for a minor town in France but it is certainly not top class. It includes some well-known, drinkable Belgians, local beer (I had it, and it wasn’t particularly good, to put it mildly) and the obligatory Kronenbourg, Guinness, Hoegaarden and Leffe. No food, but younare welcome to bring your own and munch it inside. Fair prices. Might be back again one day. |
42 /100 Cora - Verdun (Grocery Store) AVENUE DE METZ French grocery chain with some Belgians , local brewers and gift sets. Most of aisle is for pale lagers and ciders, however. |
86 /100 45, RUE DES ROUYERS What a surpise to find this brewpub in Verdun. Didn’t know there was one. Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Nice selection of beers, especially for a pub in France. Mostly Belgian of course. But also the beers brewed on location of course. |
90 /100 45, RUE DES ROUYERS Fantastic find in historic city of Verdun. The bar is on a one street and the Bottleshop on another but both establishments are connected. They brew on premises. There is a great selection of beers in both bar and shop.
A must visit for Northern France. |
