70 /100 L’instant T (Bar) 2 RUE RACINE Went for lunch beer was Belgian heavy, which did please the wife as she was able to get St B Abt 12 on tap. Food was great. |
80 /100 La Cave à Houblon (Beer Store) 35 RUE FRESQUE A tiny beer bar in a "cave" on a narrow street in the old quarter, not far from the Roman Arena. Good selection of bottled beers, for France. Friendly service and drinkers spill out on the street. Offers wine too (of course). Only food I saw was a yummy charcuterie board. Best beer joint in town |
72 /100 La Cave à Houblon (Beer Store) 35 RUE FRESQUE Stopped in here while vacationing in the south of France. Shopkeeper (owner?) was friendly (although he doesn’t really speak English....we chatted with him in our poor French). I would call this a typical small beer store in urban France. A good mix of local stuff, Belgian, US, plus stuff from around Europe. Definitely if you’re in Nimes, the location can’t be beat so stop by. He’s also got a small cold case, which I regret not taking advantage of. Useful if you want to pick up something to take back to the hotel room. |
