64 /100 V and B Cholet (Beer Store) 4 BOULEVARD DU POITOU After a short road-trip in Vendée. Maybe the 12th V and B I walk through (bottle and wine stores and a bar) :) Maybe 250 beers. Mostly belgian classics. Honestly, selection is better than before in V and B's ; more craft beers and I bought some french beers from Zoobrew and La Rombière (local brewery). 6 forgettable beers on tap. Friendly staff ; ok prices. |
64 /100 La Cervoiserie Cholet (Beer Store) 3 RUE DU LAC ÉRIÉ After a short road-trip through Vendée. Another "La Cervoiserie" shop. Beer store and bar ! Classy black shelves with maybe 250 beers. Not a foolish pirat craft spirit (mostly belgian classics) ; but I am always happy to find Dupont beers or special Bush beers (Bush des Charmes...) or Brussel beer projects beers. Ok french beer selection ; not as good as Poitiers though ( a few La Débauche, Piggy Brewing) ; I found a few local beers from la Rombière (nice touch). Beers on tap are forgettable. I was happy to find a nice cast-iron puck game with a lead board ; dart game. And first time, I see "la Cervoiserie" glasses sealed with padlocks for regular consumers :) Friendly staff. |
74 /100 Bières é Chopes Cholet (Beer Store) 7 RUE EUGÈNE BRÉMOND Small parking. Many beers but less than the "Bières é Chopes" from Base-Goulaine near Nantes. Nevertheless, the regional beers were more interesting (Bonne Garde, La Musse, La Divatte). Many belgian ales ; I found an eisbock (Kulmbacher) and a beautiful "Champagne-like" Malheur Dark Brut. Friendly staff ; there is also the passion I didn’t find in Base-Goulaine. I had a good time there with a Bonne Garde beer on tap. Very good. I will come back. |
