“Just went in to this store to kill a bit of time. The store was a lot bigger than what I first expected and have a fantastic beer selection with a lot of singles. Friendly service and fair prices.“

“Didn’t look much charming or interesting from the oustide this store, but as we were to stop just around the corner, we had a look anyway. Sure a place that belongs on Ratebeer. Lots of sixers, a wall full of Belgians, another filled with bombers, there’s a room full of coolers, that unfortunately is mostly filled with uninteresting beers, and a shelf or two of singles. Some of the singles had bad dates, so please check before buying. The prizes were’nt too steep either. Reasonable and friendly service. A place I will return to if I for some reason is in the area again.“

“Still good food. Not so sure on the draught selection, which is nearly impossible to read in the dim light. The last 3 times I’ve been here, I’ve had to run through the tap selection at least 3 or 4 times before finally finding one that is not kicked. On top of that, service is usually very slow, even on nights that are light on patrons. Most of their beers are served in tiny snifters and are overpriced. Not worth the stop.“

“A really good selection for Connecticut, and they let you buy singles/mix a 6 pack. Pretty much the same selection as Manchester. They have a lot of space and fill it with good beers. The guy there was helpful too.“

“Served me great when travelling from New York up north. It has a good selection of regulars, singles and foreign beers. It could howerver have more imperial stouts on stock. Very friendly and service minded personell!“

“Went here for the first (and probably last) time about two weeks ago. The place itself is a typical noisy, busy small chain restaurant with a dark interior and lots of televisions. The selection is your basic craft menu with a number of regionals, plenty of macros disguised as craft beer, and some of the widely available Belgian beers. An attempt is made to serve the beers in their own glassware at a proper temperature which is a plus. The food, which is your typical mid range steakhouse food is decent, but overpriced. The service was very lacking. We were seated quickly which is nice. What is not nice is that I ordered an appetizer, an entree, and a beer. My appetizer arrived within 5 minutes of ordering it. 5 minutes later, my salad, the beer I ordered, and my entree all arrived. This was happening to a lot of people around me and was not a random thing. This place tries to rush you right out the door. It is also hard to get anyone’s attention when it’s time for another beer. Not a place I’ll be going out of my way for anytime soon.“

“This place is like a candy store for beer enthusiasts! A good selection of New England brews and a great aisle of singles from all over the world (it’s hard to put together a six pack with all of the choices!). The staff is always very helpful and friendly. I go out of the way to shop here.“

“a much better spot than i was expecting. great service and was so happy to see the shelf of singles...so rare for a CT beer store to do that. Was really there just to check it out due to travelling on the meritt but found myself buying two 4 packs of singles. great spot when in the area.“

“More and more I tend to shop locally here as opposed to Amity Wine & Spirits, because they seem to have more hard-to-find selections. While their sheer volume doesn’t compare to Amity, they seem to more carefully choose what they do carry, and I would say the staff is pretty knowledgeable on the whole. Prices are on par with most other decent beer shops in the New Haven area.“

“This place is a hit or miss for me. they do carry a pretty good selection and have some good singles from time to time but many of the singles are way past there prime. Good import section with some of the best available in Connecticut. I can always find a few good large bottles and they have decent mixed 12 packs. This is one of the better spots in the state but they just don’t seem to have someone who really follows up on there beer selection.“

“This is a large liquor store with an unusually good beer selection. It is big, open, and easy to find things in. They also allow you to purchase many kinds of beer individually. Overall, their selection of beer is excellent but not outstanding. I have seen stores with much more extensive collections. Extra plus: right next door to Trader Joe’s, so I can do a 2-in-1 trip!“

“This is a very large store with both an excellent wine selection and an excellent beer selection. Their prices tend to be a little lower than everyone else and they stock quite a few hard to find beers like Cantillon, Old Marley, TH Imperial Porter, and others. They have a massive cooler section which stocks six packs of just about every New England beer available in CT and a large back shelf that is filled with lots of singles. There are quite a few people who work there who know a lot about beer and are quick to recommend local bars to anyone interested. This is the must stop location for out of towners looking for CT brews, but do not come here expecting the kind of rare beers available in Naugatuck if you are a native of the region.. “
