“A delightful place settled in at the foot of the Sussex Downs. Real Ale is poured direct from cask and is always beautifully kept. It is small but a real jewel where good beer is taken seriously. The Old ale and the Harvey’s Best are standout.“

“A village pub that looks like a chocolate box cottage; very foody. The Cricketers Arms in the small village of Berwick, just off the A27 between Lewes and Pevensey and a short hop from Middle Farm, is set in a lovely English country garden and looks like a cottage straight off a chocolate box. It has three rooms with scrubbed pine tables, every one of which was occupied by diners when we visited one Sunday lunchtime in November as part of Caspar’s send off party. They have five Harveys taps (Star of Eastbourne, Bonfire Boy, Sussex Best and Old Ale when we were there; the Armada was off) and excellent freshly pressed apple juice, which was much appreciated by yours truly as the driver. The food was hearty. (Visited 6 November 2011).“
