74 /100 Tom Pudding (Bar) 20 PASTURE ROAD This should be your first port of call in Goole. Named after coal containers which went from the Yorkshire coal fields to Goole by river. This place has 5 cask beers and 25 or so bottled beers. Very reasonable prices, between 2.20 and 2.60 a pint. No wifi yet. Recommended |
22 /100 Macintosh Arms (Bar) 13 AYRE STREET It used to have real ale but no longer. It just has Carling and Tetley's. Avoid. Try Tom Pudding, the City and County jdw of the Victoria for real ale. |
62 /100 City and County (JDW) (Bar) MARKET SQUARE Less than 5 minutes walk from the train station. Overlooks the clock tower. Free WiFi. 2 lots of handpumps. Reasonable choice. 1.99 a pint. |
66 /100 City and County (JDW) (Bar) MARKET SQUARE Overlooking the Market Square, which is in fact simply a traffic island with a clock tower as its centerpiece, this Wetherspoon is housed in one of the older style buildings in the small town centre. There is a slightly more modern building attached to the rear to extend the pub’s space, however the best place to sit is in front of the bar in the main area at the front. This is a large open space with high ceilings that make it airy and atmospheric even it is longer than it is deep. There are two rows of real ale pumps and a garden area towards the rear. |
