80 /100 25-27 SUMMERSTOWN Taproom for the Against the Grain Cidery in the former site of By the Horns Brewing.
A similar setup to By the Horns, minus the TVs, and with a refurbed, brighter interior with comfy seating.
A decent selection of both their ciders (three taps) and guest beers (up to 8 taps).
There's also a good selection of cans, a mix of ciders (some guest) and with rotating stock from local breweries.
They will often purchase a reasonably sized order from certain breweries, so you might see several taps from breweries like Bianca Road, By the Horns, Two Flints, Gipsy Hill, Drop Project, etc. on at one time, and an influx of cans from that brewery.
A nice spot to pop in for a beer. The owner is super nice and passionate about his cider, as well as very knowledgeable about the brewing scene in general (having used to work as a brewer for By the Horns).
The guest stuff they get in tends to be from London (or close to London) breweries, but there's usually something new to try, either in can or on tap.
I'm not a football person, so I tend to avoid it on match days, but it is right opposite AFC Wimbledon's stadium, and I understand it's a nice atmosphere before and after games.
I think they are still doing pizza's on some days as well.
Prices are very reasonable for the area. |
