72 /100 Greyhound (Bar) BESSELSLEIGH Really picturesque village pub just outside Oxford. Big open plan inside and lots of outside seating. 6 hand pulls on my visit. All local bucks and Oxfordshire beers. Great food. Dog friendly and free Wi-Fi. |
62 /100 Greyhound (Bar) BESSELSLEIGH We visited The Greyhound on Tuesday 28th April 2015 in the company of Peter Fowler of Shoulder of Mutton and Gazza and Jay from Hopcraft Brewery. This is a very large pub on the A420 that links Oxford and Swindon, it’s about 10-15 mins outside of Oxford. It veers more towards food and that is why we went, to catch up with Peter Fowler before he headed up to the North East. However I was a little surprised as it had a pretty healthy selection of cask beers to choose from with about 6 on tap, though none particularly inspired me. I chose safe option, I think that it may have been Burton Bridge, I did try to steer Gazza away from the Gundog beers but he plumped for that and as I suspected was immediately disappointed. The food was good, the place was busy, staff friendly though it seeks Peter had been here a few times by now. I think that I might try here again, it’s easy enough to get to, I didn’t really explore as we were eating so not a great review I’m afraid.
