82 /100 Chantry Inn (Bar) 400 HANDSWORTH ROAD Rescued from what seemed like permanent closure early 2019, this was always (and now is, again) the best pub for miles. Parts of the building are grade 1 listed, and the pub retains lots of interesting features, not least the view from the rear room window into the graveyard. The cask beer, all provided by new owners Chantry brewery are surprisingly good, and in very good condition each time I’ve visited. A couple of craft beers on too, although they are usually safe choices such as Tiny Rebel or Northern Monk. Open all day, this is a sub 10 minute drive from Junction 33 of the M1 or 52 or 30 bus from Sheffield city centre. It’s also the former home of, reputedly, the most handsome and charismatic barman to have ever worked in Sheffield.
