COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A good value beer that trades well on its black can and traditional image. New Zealand Lager is a full strength, easy drinking lager with a full flavoured finish. A stable favourite in parts of Auckland where it has a loyal following.

UPDATED: SEP 18, 2019 Tallboy that I picked up in a strip mall wine shop in Auckland. Decent can. Very pale brew with a lacing white head. Fresh aroma, smells like beer, but with a little eggy underpinning. Very low bittering, fairly sweet, some nuttiness and sunflower seeds. Goes a little flat. Not great, not swill.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2019 Buying cheap beer is like putting 5 rounds in the chamber and playing russian roulette, this beer is the blank you need to save your life. To be honest you only bought this because you wanted to save $7 from buying your favourite beer, yet are you dissapointed? You shouldnt be, this is a basic well rounded beer that is drank by the homeless and university student hipsters that forcefully drink cheap beer over RTD's and cider to prove they are more kiwi than anyone else at the party when 'six60 dont forget your roots' starts playing. Thats 2/3's of wellington's population so you're on the winning side 👍

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2018 PURE GOLD, ice cold it's a clean fresh delicious lager, inoffensive and extremely drinkable. basically a Heineken but better comes In cans, which are better than bottles and cheap as. Plus people are snobs and won't steal them from the party chillybin.

Brought this beer because its cheap ($15 a doz at countdown) and was expecting a beer which tastes like the usual "traditional cheap plonk of yesteryear" (a brew with a strong chlorinic or metallic aftertaste ie canterbury draught) however to my surprise the taste resembles that of simply beer. A bit thin on the look but excellent taste and for $14-16 a dozen incredibly cheap for a 5% beer and well worth it for those wanting a quality brew while sticking to a budget.

Thanks Krešo! Shared with ogivlado, kajser and franski. Pale yellow-golden body, big white head that went away fast. Sourish corny aroma, kefir, vegetables, uh. Empty herbal aroma, vague apples, dry grainy note, perfumey. Very dry bready finish, vegetables.

Good standard NZ lager with some strength. Well priced. Best if found in bottles.

Can from The Beer Cellar June 2013. Best thing I can say about this is that the can looked pretty good. As for what was in the can well that’s better left unsaid.
