mansquito (16921) - Nueva York, New York, USA - DEC 24, 2016Black Squirrel, DC tap: pours dark brown with a light beige head. Aroma is light chocolate and some light coffee and fruitiness. Super light taste. Light coffee in the finish. Super light bodied for what this is. Not bad.
willisread (7331) - Detroit, Michigan, USA - NOV 22, 2016Tap at Gambrinus. Pours a deep black with ruby highlights and no head. Cocoa powder, blueberry and earthiness on the nose. Surprisingly tart on the palate; even for a baltic. Blueberry, lingonberry with a tart waxiness. Light on the palate with some light muscat and coffee. Interesting.

A pretty malt forward Porter, lighter in color than I expected. Roasted malts, light creamy mineral notes.
Travlr (33920) - No fixed abode, New York, SLOVENIA - MAY 31, 2016Draft at Churchkey during Savor week. Clear maroon brown color. Aroma of toast and cocoa pwder. Taste is like the scrapings of said toast.
solidfunk (20057) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - MAY 30, 2016Light roast and some raw barley. Some coffee. Black pour with good head and lacing. Ok but not a super fantastic Baltic porter. Tap at Churchkey.
rondphoto (5183) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - AUG 28, 2015on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Dense clear dark mahogany brown color, light tan head cover, wide strips of lace. Solid aroma of caramel chocolate. Taste is somewhat bitter malt that adds dark chocolate on the swallow, and doesn’t need additional bittering in the finish. A strong brew, somewhat heavy in the stomach, not a lot of complexity. Overall, good, not great.
Tmoney99 (21180) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 4, 2015Draft. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted and produced excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted dark chocolate and hop aroma. Medium body with a dry smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted malt flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet finish of moderate duration. This is the good brew.
50belair (4483) - Florida, USA - FEB 17, 2015On tap at the brewery. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Nice roasted malt aromas. Tasty with loads of roasted malts. Grain and smoke lowlights. Rich and complex. Another fine example of the style. Good body and mouthfeel.
tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - FEB 3, 2015Tap @ Against The Grain: Super dark ruby & mahogany color with a khaki trace outlining the very top; not a full head, just a frothy collar. Aroma laden with burnt toast smothered in prune jam. Undertones of scorched molasses, ash, & a bit of roasted malt, cut nicely by a current of vague dark fruit sweetness. Flavor is also very deep & malty as expected. Heavy anise & licorice, dates, molasses, burnt malts, toast, bitter cocoa dust, & slight hints of coffee bean. A bit of unabashed dirty earthiness leads into a finish that actually leaves a strong aftertaste of Tootsie Roll candies. Starts semi-bitter, roasted & dry, then finishes with a notable offset of sweetness. Medium bodied. Not bad. I don’t love the heavy anise up front, but it still turns out to be an enjoyable beer for me.
