Bottle. pours clear deep amber, large creamy beige head, slow to dissipate and nice to lace. Aroma is caramel, herbal, a bit of tree sap. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, herbal, no juniper per se, but a foresty feel to it. Resinous is a good word, lingering tannins in the mouth. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Quite interesting.

Bottle thanks to Profrockstar. Shared at weekly tasting. Pours amber brown off white head. Nose/taste of juniper, tree bark and herbs. Touch of light nutty malt. Lighter medium body. Touch overcarbonated. Legit sahti.

Bottle. Brown pour with tan head. Heavy juniper berries, light spice and woodyness. Over carbed a bit, otherwise nice Sahti.

Thanks to Prufrockstar for the trade! Amber, small white head. Smells like pine, smoke and some spruce. taste is woody, caramel and piney. As it warms, the juniper and smoke start to open up, as well and some peppery and herbal notes. Not exactly what I was expecting, but tasty.

Hazy yellow pour with a huge white creamy head. Aroma is light malt and juniper. Flavor is sweet malt, light brown sugar, floral hop bitter and juniper. The juniper had me going in circles until I read that it was in there. Medium bodied with good carbonation. ok beer

500 ml shared by suttree. Opaque orange-brown, Nose is a touch of smoke ans some evergreen resin. Taste is evergreen smoke, toffee, and some dirty orange. Medium body is a bit to the sweet side for over-hopped Americans, but mostly in a nice balance with too much carbonation.

MacBoost (2074) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 17, 2014
First sahti beer ever. 750ml bottle, bees waxed cap. Pours an amber color with a huge white, rocky head. Aromas of sweet banana and honey. Taste is semi sweet with no apparent bitterness. No alcohol detected. Flavors of banana pudding. Finishes sweet and very banana like, with perhaps a touch of juniper and milk. Really like this style of rew.

Red brown pour big tan head that stays. Aroma of barnyard yeast tang caramel pine. Tastes big malt, caramel, herbal, grass, honey. Yeasty creaminess to palate. Tastes a bit hot and acidic. Good, but too much malt for my tastes.

DuffMan (10981) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 4, 2014
Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Medium amber body, average tan head. Caramel with spicy notes and mild herbal character, woody undertones, slightly medicinal. Intriguing, but suffering a bit from lack of substance.
