My all time favorite beer. I love the finish of this brew. Definitely has some sweet notes and unique all around.

Pours a burnt orange color. One finger white head. Okay retention, great lacing. Average carbonation.

Aroma is lots of malts. Brown sugar. Floral and earthy hops. Similar to, but lesser than, barleywine.

Taste is bittersweet. Sure, I taste the bitter beer, but it also had big malts that counter with sweetness. Brown sugar, caramel. Maybe a slight touch of coffee.

Mouthfeel is full bodied. It's bitter, for sure. It's heavy, and sticky. You're probably not going to want more than one of these at a time.

Overall, it's good. I like it. Core, finally got one right. I would drink this again, and I would buy it again. I probably would not recommend it, because not everyone can handle it.

Draft at the Bentonville, AR Taproom. The ale poured a clear Amber with an off white head and lacing. This was an excellent ale with some sweetness but very balanced. The ale has a medium body and soft carbonation. The taste has tropical fruit with some cherries. The finish was clean.

Bottle thanks to Brian! Pours a near clear with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy grains with some earthy grass and a touch of sweetness. Flavor is similar with earthy grain and some grass with a hint of light pine.

Bottle. Murky orange pour. Sweet candy, caramel, hint of booze. Hop punch underlying everything. Also better than I expected.

Bomber. Pours amber with a rocky ivory head. Pine and toffee nose. Well hidden ABV. Flavor shows off the hops with nice caramel backbone. Finishes long and appetizing.

swanmann (795) - Nompton, Oklahoma, USA - NOV 26, 2014
From the bomber: Great amber color with deep red tone and lush khaki foam, subsiding gradually. Huge grapefruit and pine aromas with nice caramel and bourbon/ booze notes. Big malty, slightly roasty backbone with orange rind twang and bitterness. It’s delicious, full-bodied, finishes bittersweet.

Picked up at Brown Derby in Springfield, MO. It did not pour a red color but more of a light amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was of pine, hops and citrus. The taste was similar with some bitterness and a medium body. Decent.

Ratman197 (24686) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 27, 2014
Bomber poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of caramel, dank bud, pink grapefruit, light orange zest and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a drfy finish. Flavors of caramel, pine, grapefruit and a hint of earthiness with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.

3.2

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours deep ruby/brown with a lacy, light beige head. Aroma of a nice piney/floral hoppiness, a lot of caramel and toffee and pale malts, and some dough. The malts overpower the hops in this beer. Average texture. A decent beer, but could be more balanced, even though I know they’re going for a big beer.
