Idiosynkrasie (16069) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - NOV 19, 2019
UPDATED: NOV 19, 2019 650ml bottle. Jet black colour with slightly late awakening, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, tan head. Chocolately dark malty and citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, hints of milk chocolate, a touch of nougat, hints of orange zest, some mandarine. Taste is sweet-ish and slightly roasty, chocolately dark malty and mildly bitter, zesty, citrusy fruity, notes of dark chocolate, some milk chocolate, cocoa, dark caramel, a touch of nougat, some orange zest, some mandarine, a touch of vanilla; well hidden alcohol. Creamy texture, smooth, soft, silky palate, soft and gentle carbonation. Very nice and harmonious, integrated composition, well balanced, dangerously drinkable.

Bottle thanks to EricTeusink. Pours inky black, medium tan head, dissipates slowly leaving nice residual and lacing. Aroma is really chocolate orange, roasty. Flavor is light plus sweet, quite bitter, cocoa and oranges, hints of vanilla, roasted malts. Light acidity. Medium plus body, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty tasty, even if we are past the cellar lifetime :)

Dark brown body with a brown head. Malty dark chocolate roasted aroma. Some burnt sugar, dark dry fruit. Same in taste. Not much orange except for maybe some zesty flavours. Pretty solid imperial stout nonetheless.

Bottle @ home. Black in color with a thin tan head. Lots of roasted malt, licorice, and some sweet orange. Bitter cocoa and coffee. A little bit of booze on the back end. Bitter flavor and roasty. A lot of licorice, some ash, and sweet orange. Not bad.

Bottle in Glenwood Springs with friends, courtesy of Aaron. Thanks man! Pour is deep brown with a frothy brown head and great lacing. Bakers chocolate, vanilla, some coffee, lightly toasty, marshmallow, graham crackers, and earthy aroma. Taste is chocolate, coffee grounds, earthy hops, orange peels, some vanilla, graham crackers, and raisins. Medium body with soft carbonation. Nice flavors, but could use a thicker body, still tasty. 3

Bottle with Steve_0 in Glenwood Springs, thanks to markwise. Pours a black appearance with a thin brown head. Aroma is full of milk chocolate, light coffee, a touch of fruit, and some vanilla. Medium body. Kind of spicy flavor. Tons of chocolate. Dessert like flavor. Fun. A little sweet.

Pours a deep viscous black color with two fingers of light khaki foam. Rich roast on the nose with dark bakers cocoa, big chewy mouthfeel, some light citrus and vanilla add nice complexity but don’t really shine quite as much as the big dark body of this beast. Tasty treat !

weark (1190) - Morges, SWITZERLAND - FEB 6, 2015
Bottle from La Mise en Bière - Black color with a beautiful dark brown head, good lasting and great lacing - Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, soy sauce, hints of vanilla - Flavor is more dark chocolate, vanilla, orange, roasted malt, nuts and hints of coffee - Full body, medium bitterness, pleasant carbonation, creamy and velvety palate, long bitter chocolate finish - So good, i love chocolate beer when they are done like this, to drink with a dessert
