Musta olut nopeasti katoavalla ruskealla vaahdolla. Maltainen, hieman kahvinen ja toisaalta aavistuksen greippinen tuoksu. Myös maku paahteisen, aavistuksen verran palaneen kahvinen oloinen sekä greippisen hedelmäinen. Loppupuolella liu’utaan katkeraan, kuivahkoon päätökseen. Keskitäyteläinen suutuntuma. Hieman kitkerä tämä on, mutta toisaalta erittäin juotava.

(Draught at Bryggeri Helsinki, 15 Dec 2015) Black colour with creamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee and some pine needles. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, chocolate, a touch of grapefruit, pine needles and a balanced piney/citric bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and well made black IPA. Nice one.

Mustaksi IPAksi vähähumalainen. Turhan lämmintä oli. Hyvä juoma. Ensi kerralla kylmempänä

0,33l pullo Olutkulttuuriseuran vuosijuhlassa. Sameahko punertava tummanruskea. Tuoksussa paahteista mallasta. Hieman savua. Hedelmäistä humalaa. Loistava tasapaino. Maussa runsaasti havuista humalaa. Paahteista mallasta. Hedelmää. Todella tasapainoinen. Hyvää!

[ Trade by oh6gdx ]. Dark dark brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, moderate hoppy, grass, citrus, fruity citrus, funky notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate, roasted, malt and hop bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150712]

Bottle at Bryggeri Helsinki. It pours near black with a decent tan head. The nose is sweet, juicy tropical fruits, roasted malt, berry, bubblegum, bounty bar and cocoa. The taste is bitter, rich roast, earth, coffee, charred wood, ashy, citrus rind, tar, salted liquorice, burnt coconut and cocoa with a lingering bitter-toasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Xolid xda.

8.2.2014. Musta olut tumman ruskealla vaahdolla. Tuoksussa miellyttävästi humalaa ja leipää/mallasta. Maussa hieman lakritsia ja enemmän mallasta ja leipää. Jälkimaku tuo makeaa leipää ja humalan puraisua, myös greippiä mustaan olueeseen. Ensimaisti panimolta ja loistava avaus.

Black body, offwhite head. Aroma has some roasted malts, piney and grapefruity hoppiness. Very much roasted malts in flavour. Sweet and hoppy finish.

2 bottles as a gift from Helsinki. BB 08/2015. Cool label - it’s sooo Finnish (: (Different from the one pictured, it features a lovable furry hairball with pointy ears and sleepy eyes - this character should’ve been in Muumis.) The beer is dark brown colour with a ruby glare. Head is beige, big, with very good retention and lacing. Amarillo-ish mid-summery ripe aroma, piney-citrusy, sweet molasses and roastiness, chocolate, slightly minty even, with a hinting Simcoe-kind of pungent cat pee moment as well. Taste… very full… loads of citrusy fruits, piney, good deal of roastiness, and somewhat chocolaty even. Heavy bitterness. Very damn sweet. Body mediummmmor rather like nearing it, carbonation active yet way below average. Overall? Pretty good. But I can’t consider myself a big fan of this (what I think is) Amarillo-laden brew - the hop just dominates too much in this one, and the burning sweet finish is nearly unbearable to me.

Bottle from Alko. As name implies pours black with a medium light brown head. Nose has citrus, especially mandarin and some burnt malt. Roasted malt, some hops and smoke. Light body with a lively carbonation and a nice, bitter finish. A nice black IPA or something similar.
