COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Abita Strawgator™ is the fusion of Strawberry Harvest Lager sweetness with the bite of Andygator. This golden lager is made with malted barley and wheat. It is hopped with German Perle hops for a delicate hop flavor. After filtration, generous amounts of fresh Louisiana strawberry juice are added, giving the beer a pleasant sweet taste and armoa, as well as a rich golden color and slight cloudiness.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2023 Great cereal/strawberry smell... Taste is JUST LIKE cereal with freeze dried strawberries...mmm super good... Can't believe it's 8%!! Very smooth, medium sweetness, lightly medium malt but it all just comes together great! No complexity...gets a little more cereal-ly with time... Very good and quite unique... Had at Republic biergarten for chuck and angela Gorman's retirement happy hour

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2022 On tap at Abita, pours a clear golden, no head. Aroma is laid back, with a tiny hint of strawberry but not much else. Flavour is pretty vile, with a very artificial strawberry ice tea character. I don’t know or care if this is real strawberry; this is pretty vile.

DraftPours23 (2978) - FRANCE - OCT 24, 2021

UPDATED: JUL 29, 2021 Pours orangish w/ a thin white head & some lacing. The aroma reminds me of a strawberry starburst. The taste is like dropping said starburst into a lager. Unique, strange, drinkable all adds up to about an average beer overall.

Kleg (3001) - The Beach, Florida, USA - JUN 13, 2020
UPDATED: JUN 13, 2020 12 oz. can bought at Total Wine - Melbourne, FL. Pours a clear gold color with a white head and good retention. Spots of lacing. Active carbonation. I guess that's strawberry I smell. Tastes like old strawberries, diacetyl and semi-flat malt liquor with an unclean finish. Medium body. I'm just not a fan of strawberry beers. At least the 8.0% ABV is fairly hidden.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2020 12 ounce can poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a clear gold with a thick head of white foam. Sugary sweet fake strawberry syrup taste. Some vanilla. Lighter body and medium carbonation.

lavaaaron (3607) - - MAY 13, 2018
UPDATED: MAY 13, 2018 Smells like a fruity yankee candle. Golden in color. The taste on this is like strawberry lipsmackers chapstick.. there is a fake strawberry or overripe strawberry taste to this. It’s not bad but be prepared for that level of strawberry. The big bottles would be a lot to put down on your own without feeling a little rough after.
