UPDATED: SEP 10, 2022 Pecan, chocolate caramel malt and fresh hay aroma. Cloudy dark brown with small light brown head. Moderately sweet pecan, caramel malt, and mildly bitter fresh hay and alcohol flavor. Body light for the style. Nice flavor but very light for a quad.

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2019 At Riverside Beverage on clearance for $10. Yeah sign me up. Appearance is a brown color with a beige head. The aroma contains some nutmeg, caramel, toffee, maple, and alcohol. The flavor is very sweet with the caramel and maple standing out. Some toffee and caramel is also present. The booze shows up here and there but it's not overwhelming. I can sum it up like this picture a Heath bar in liquid form. Oh yeah that good. Overall this should be brought back as a regular it's top notch stuff.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2019 I’ve lost track of how long I have had 10 put away, a year maybe 2. And I bought it where, who knows. But beer is meant to be consumed and this pleasant, early summer Saturday evening is the time. I use a chalice, why the hell not? And it is a great cap on the 750 ml bottle too I should add. I see a medium brown liquid and a practically nonexistent beige head. The scent, cut hay, sorghum, cane sugar and malt. Whew, where do we go from here. Oh yeah, the taste. Decent, malt, toffee, very ripe black plum, grain. Rather quadruplish, just not at a top level.

750 bottle. Very clear. Ruby red color highlights. Mahogany. Big sediment apparent. Dark fruit and plum aroma. All-spice, cinnamon. Light nuts in the aroma. Spicy flavor, dark fruit, fig, raisins, plums. Sweetness is fairly low. Spicy flavor again. Alcohol warmth. Certainly very different from the original base beer.

Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a thick, dense, four centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pecans, nuts, earth, malt, a bit of coffee and even some squash. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong nutty flavour with a big grain flavour right afterwards, some good sweetness from brown sugar and caramel with a little earthy finish. Aftertaste shows a good deal of alcohol, some nice rich squash flavours, but all together a bunch of nuts and caramel sweetness - as expected. Overall, a very nice rich beer with a lot of sugars and somehow - even more nuttiness. Good to sample, and although it was strong and in a large format bottle, it was still nice to sample! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 17-May-2015 for US$12,48 sampled in my hotel room in Luray, Virginia on 19-September-2015 after spending a day in the mountains.
