COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
San Francisco, a.k.a “The Paris of the West,” has long been home to a diverse culture of bohemians and a bastion of art, creativity, and progressive thinking.

This decadent dark quadrupel-style ale was created in that same spirit–brewed with dark candi sugar, dried flame grapes, and orange peel, then fermented with a French ale yeast. Pair with funky Roquefort cheese and visions of a grand tomorrow!

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2019 Acquired at Woodcrest Liquor for $9.99, Paris of the West is a Quadruple Ale brewed with flame raisins, candi sugar, and oranges crafted by Almanac Beer Company. The aroma of prunes, raisins, and yeast are noted as you drink. The appearance is a dark brown with a low vanilla head. When held up to light, a dark ruby amber colors the beer. The alcohol content is 9.5%. Prunes are prominent to the yeasty complexion. French ale yeast offers a silk like touch to the mouthfeel. Flame raisins blend with the yeast and seemingly give off a light hot sweetness. Plums round out the yeast, raisin, and prune body. Candi sugar texture the prune and raisin comprehension. Cherries tart the take and easily picked out in the finish. Orange peel is distinguished with the flame raisins. Caramel glows with the plum and yeast tone. Vanilla is sensible with the yeast, prunes, and caramel. Paris of the West is a spectacular Quad. The French ale yeast and flame raisins combine into a one of a kind experience. The caramel, plums, yeast, and vanilla have an incredible tone upon the mouthfeel. This Quad is absolutely delicious, complex, and insanely easy to drink. This is heaven in a glass. Cheers. Prost. Flaska från Joacim, delad under bottleshare. Något/några år på nacken? Brunmurken med beigekrämig krona. Torkad frukt, apelsin, russin, kandisocker. Mellanstor till stor kropp. I smaken försvånansvärt syrlig för en quad. Mycket apelsin, aprikos, stenfrukt. Lite udda, men helt klart intressant.

650 ml bottle, bottled 28.8.2015, shared by Sebilinz, many thanks! Pours a hazy deep chestnut brown with an off-white head. Aroma with lots of sweet malt - honey, prunes, raisins, milk chocolate - very smooth aroma. Medium body with a low carbonation, a light sweetness, a light tartness and a light acidity. Flavor of oranges with quiet some citric acidity in front of a solid malt body - cocoa, nuts, dried dark fruits, plums, raisins. Finishes medium dry with nuts and cocoa. Surprisingly acidic in the beginning with very pleasant roasty notes.

650 ml bottle, bottled 08/28/15, shared by Erich, thanks!
Brown body, with a small, creamy, beige head.
Aroma of brown sugar, dried fruits, cocoa, caramel, toast, some soy sauce, subtle smoke.
Tastes similar, with some some more orange.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes medium roasty, medium sweet, a bit dry, a bit wooden, fruity, a bit toasty.

Very nice. Diverse, with roasty, sweet and even subtle smoke notes. The dried fruits are quite prominent, but there is a lot more going on. Not outstanding maybe, but really interesting.

Quite a lot going on here. A little bitterness from the hops but not a lot. Something more like a barley wine than an ale. A lot of raising, dried fruit and fig. Also orange and caramel. Quite yeasty, stale and sour. Good work.
