COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A trans-Gottardo double IPA, brewed in collaboration with Full Measure Brewing (Bern). 3D is built around the assertive bitterness and bold citrus flavours that started the craft revolution, with a nod towards the tropical future. We used a truckload of familiar hops (Columbus, Cascade, Chinook and Citra) with a modern hop schedule, and packaged in black bottles to prevent UV infiltration. Keep cool, drink fresh and from a glass.

Bottiglia.

330ml bottle from trade with Anstei. Many thanks! Pours hazy amber, off-white head. Sweet malts rule the nose with some over-ripe fruit. Taste is a little harsh, in-your-face and malt-heavy but some decent fruit flavours shine through once it settles. Not bad.

rand (3460) - SWITZERLAND - JAN 22, 2017
Bottle 33 cl from Bier-Bienne (CH). Muddy reddish, average pale ochre head. Aromas of citrus and tropical fruits with a sweet and fragancy mouth, tangerine, mango, plum, pine and tropical marmalade. Creamy but a point of flour, round and very sweet-jam but with an alcohol present and discreet at the same time. Bello !

Gurthnar (12186) - Bratislava, SLOVAKIA - JAN 18, 2017
Bottle at a tasting. High bitterness and loads of hops character - citrusy, zesty, resiny. Some alcohol pokes through, but only lightly. Intense, kicking ass. Fresh feeling too. Well attenuated and high carbonation. Moderate to full body with light caramel presence, but whatever. Basically a well made DIPA.

Bottle kindly shared by Gurthnar, many thanks. Amber color with medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, distinct citrus hops. Taste, solid caramel malty base followed by nice citrus hops, alcohol. Medium long hoppy bitter finish. Very good.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2016 Intense pine and resin, grass, sweet grain malts, molasses. Hazy, dark amber, massive, creamy, beige head. More pine, resin, grass, turning very bitter, soft carbonation, full bodied, super bitter and dry finish. Very piney and resinous IIPA, seems a bit one dimensional, too intense in piney bitterness, lacks complexity. Bottle from Beers’n’More, Zurich.

330 mL bottle poured, gifted by luttonm. Thanks Matt, for supplying the majority of my recent beer rates. I could rate the ones I already have, but these are all really cool. Dark and dense copper red pour with a rocky foam head. Bold hop bitter aroma faced with an earthy malt. Flavor reverses, and relies on a sturdy malt backbone, with some grassy, slightly vegetal hops impression. The malt profile here is on point. Very tasty. Typically when I notice a solid malt bill, it turns out to be the most basic of basic bills, but that’s okay. Overall I like this. A different look into the IPA style from the fairly consistent type I regularly end up with. Refreshing to try something different. Not sure how fresh this is without a bottle date, and with me holding on to it for a short while, but I’m curious how this would taste fresh on tap. Guess I’m going to Switzerland. Fun beer here.

Bottle shared by luttonm - thanks! Clear dark amber pour, creamy head, good duration. Aroma: toasty, light caramel, very pleasant resinous and herbal hop component. Taste: there’s this really cool nutty/toast malt contribution here, with a nice assertive but pleasant bitter finish. Reminds me in some ways as a super-hopped up mild, which is a pretty fun take. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Overall: unique tasty brew, would definitely drink this again if ever I find myself in Switzerland.
