UPDATED: OCT 12, 2019 Bottle thanks to Nikos! Pours inky black with a small tan head, dissipates to a ring with some lacing. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, hint of smoke. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, fair bit of chili pepper bite, less vanilla than in the nose, chocolate, bourbon, cinnamon. No maple present. Medium body. Lingering chili heat.

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2019 Tasting @EurHop 2019 (Rome). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma color cappuccino leggera. Al naso note di peperoncino, cannella, vaniglia, caffé, cioccolato, botte. In bocca è dolce all'attacco con chiusura amara media, tanto peperoncino e spezie. Corpo pieno, carbonazione media. Il peperoncino copre tutto ed esalta l'alcol in bocca, rendendola veramente difficile da bere.

Old check in. Tasted on draft. Pours black. Aroma of bourbon, coffee, caramel, cocoa. Thick and chewy, oily mouthfeel. Lots of coffee, cocoa, molasses, bourbon, caramel. Very smooth with no alcohol burn. Incredible. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

MBCC 2017, Blue session. Black body with a dark brown head. Aroma of sweet maple, cinnamon, coffee. Taste is quite sweet with dark chocolate, vanilla, maple, also some dark fruits, peppers, fudge. Very nice complexity, a big beer. Lovely!

Spiced stout by Voodoo, aged in barrels that previously housed the famed Papi van Winkle bourbon. Creamy, pale beige, open ring on top of a very dark, almost black but still largely translucent hazy burgundy brown beer. Intense aroma of vanilla beans, marmalade, chocolate liqueur, peppercorns, black radish, oyster mushrooms, cappuccino, cinnamon-flavoured coffee, wet wood, strawberry wine, bourbon. Equally intense onset, sweat candied fig and candied orange peel, maple syrup sweetness, soft blackberry jam hint, softish carbonation, thick and oily body. Thick nutty and toffeeish malts, nicely bittersweet but much more sweet than bitter initially, still with a soft toasty bittering edge before going full into clearly bourbon-flavoured, heating and even burning booze with glueish solventy aspects to it as well as retronasal cinnamon, ‘vanilla’ from the oak and a peppery hop bitter bite; the pepperiness is obviously amplified by the chilli peppers. Intense, colourful beer, among the more impressive ones I had from this craft brewery so far, but a bit too alcoholic for my personal taste.
