COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A small batch imperial stout brewed in collaboration with Teeling Whiskey. We work with the largest mash in our brewhouse to produce this robust beer. Full of flavour, the beer is aged for several months in Teeling’s small batch barrels before bottling.

beerfest5 (1916) - Cloneen, IRELAND - MAY 1, 2018
500ml bottle at home, part of a vertical tasting session. Pours inky black with thin brown head that dissipates quickly. Typical Imp stout aromas along with maybe a bit more freshly cut wood notes. Again, the triumph here is not in the Imp stout-i-ness of the beer, in this day and age, it needs to be something special to stand out. The amazing thing with this beer is how its been able to stamp out the booziness. So smooth and creamy along with all the complexity. Truly one of the best from Ireland.

Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Bottle, 50cL. 10%. Batch #1082. Gift from my SecretSanta Beersiveknown. Thanks ! Home. A sparkling pitch black beer with a big brown foamy head ; good retention and lacing. Roast, black chocolate (+), coffee notes, wood, alcohol, caramel. Medium round sweet, warming atmosphere ; light to medium dry bitter. Good body, light to medium oily texture, soft carbonation to flat ; sweet strong whisky lasting finish. Overall, great !

minutemat (14700) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - SEP 10, 2017
500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie Sep 17. Brought by myself. Pours dark, tan head. Aroma presents confident Teeling whisky notes, backed by strong dark malt, woody, moderately slick on the palate, light roast, cocoa, softly sweet. Quite tempered really, very enjoyable end to the evening.

4th Sep 2017: Shrewsbury monthly beer share in Chez Sophie, cheers Mat for this 500ml green waxed bottle (BB Mar 2018). Last beer of a fantastic journey drinking different styles, strengths and sizes, all brought by one of the five present on the evening. Black pour, tanned topping. Aroma has dark maltiness, whiskey and liquorice within it's make up. The taste follows along the same lines, malty, whiskey and liquorice all feature in the boozy flavour. Good end to a lovely evening.

Benzai (20020) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - AUG 25, 2017
Sampled @ Van Moll Brewpub. Opaque pitch black color, average sized light brown colored head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, heavy whiskey, heavy barrel aging, alcohol. Taste malts, roasted malts, whiskey, wood, alcohol and alcohol bitter. Medium to full body, lightly oily texture, average carbonation. Not bad, but over the top barrel ageing imo. A bit one-sided as well, not a lot of depth. 7-4-7-3-13.

Black as a Guinness and a fine beige head. Good intensity in the aroma. Loads of whiskey. Full body and a smooth carbonation level. Balanced sweetness and a bit oily texture. Whiskey, chocolate, roast, coffee and oak in the flavor. Solid stuff!
