COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
CITRA SINGLE HOP IPA: The first release in our series of three single hop beers. Three of our favorite hops: one grist bill to unite them all. The malt body for these brews is simple, yet elegant, designed to showcase the wonderful hop flavours and aromas. First up is Citra, probably the world’s most renowned hop variety. Is it all its cracked up to be? We decided to put this hops fabulous tropical fruit flavors on display: think lychee, passion fruit and guava, with some ripe stone fruit.

DraftDodger (7618) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 4, 2021
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2021 Copenhagen 4/6 2021, 44 cl can from N'Bro Kiosken, Nørrebrogade, Kbh. N. The can look like bad art from the eighties in orange, purple yellow, green and blue. Pours almost clear, golden amber with a mid-sized white head. Settles as thin but consistent layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a malty fruity odor mingling with dry hops. Sweet pale malts mingling with peach and oxidized apple. A bit perfumed. Citrus and grapefruit. Medium strong carbonation. Thin, oily, tingling, lively texture. Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while. Finish is dry. I get the feeling that a single hop IPA based on Citra could be more assertive and bit more interesting. It'd not bad but it's not anything special either.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2021 Can 44cl. @home poured into a pint glass. Citrus nose. Hazy pale to medium amber, good frothy white head, half-way lasting, fair lacing. Aroma pale malt, orange, pomelo, passion fruit, faint pine resin. Fruity taste, medium sweet and bitter, malty, grapefruit, bit resinous, spicy notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, smooth sweetbitter aftertaste, light orange pith, lingering peppery notes, solid IPA, nothing special but nice.
