Found some old ratings on paper from an unknown date... Thanks Jason. The beer pours to a clean pale chestnut amber body with a thin white head. The aroma is extremely grapey with a lit of fruits like tangerines and mandarin oranges. Insanely complex. Light oak, but lots of fruit. The flavor is sweet grapes and oak with a lightly earthen malt. Very tart palate. But, it is still very well balanced by the oak.

Thanks to whoever sent this (I think it might have been Dak back in 2010) Cellared Clear gold with no head. Petilent, big pop when the cork came out however. Vinous acetic aroma of being at the old Apple house in the fall and smelling apples fresh and souring. The flavor is tart and fruity, balanced the way I like a sour beer to be. Long lingering dry tartness in the finish.

Gold pour with white head. Aroma is oaky with fruity eaters. My first thought was apples. Flavor is oaky, vanilla, fruity, and good tartness. Medium body with good tartness. A dry finish. Not over the top sour pretty close to just right. Bottle shared from Sprijmgslicker

bottle at home. Pours cloudy dark golden, no head. Aroma of tart peach and apricot, citrus and white grapes. Some dust in the back as well. Totally flat, body is light. The dusty character is coming through. Taste is a bit bland but has some sweet white Riesling notes in it.

Bottle from old ticking notes. Cloudy light amber color with a small off-white head. Oaky aroma with lots of white wine, chardonnay in particular. Typically Russian River yeastiness. Light fruit on the flavor - white grape and sour apple especially. Slight caramel. Medium acidity with a touch of sweetness. Mildly biting palate, dry and clean. Somewhat lively mouthfeel. Pretty legit. They should bring this back, not that they don’t already have a grip of awesome stuff.

375 ml bottle acquired via trade with ClarkVV. Thanks, buddy! Truly a priviledge, a beer I’ve been hunting for years. Pours a murky brownish amber hue, a decent haziness and gentle amber glow on the edges. A bit murky overall with loose bubbly offwhite head that dies down, rings small and laces the same. Aromas are rich white grape, chardonnay, vanilla, honeysuckle and buttery oak. Firmer lactic element starts to cut through, sour green apple, grape and gentle yogurt. A faint spiciness, funk and cobwebs. A touch sweet, some wet paper and gentle oxidation linger. Initial is lighter end of the fold in body, some cidery elements, gentle green apple, a faint carmelization meets lactic acidity, some wet oak and vanilla. Touches of sharper lactic elements hit with a touch of butter, bread and oak. Vanillin, wet wood and middling sourness, gentle carbonation, a touch underdone. The wet paper is a touch older on the backend, gentle oxidation and age meet some decent funk, sharper lactic twang on the backend and finish. Touches of gentle tannic grape skin, a solid sourness, lactic and gentle funk develops as we round out this one. This is a bit older and over held, but also a bit sweet at times. A rich but sweeter nose, a bit more complexity and enjoyable sour and richer dry funky brett elements at the backend and finish. A pretty solid offering even with age. A bit underdeveloped or lacking some of the finesse other RRs have (perhaps why they discontinued it). Still, it’s flavorful and the backend is quite nice.

Big thanks to Adam! Pours a hazy deep amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a strong oakiness with some very dry and sour grapes with a bit of funk backing. Flavor has much more earthiness and barrel with dry red grapes that have a nice dryness.

Bottle summer 2013. Light backing acidity and white grape with a touch of sweetness. Very low carbonation. Enjoyable, but way past its prime.

Aroma is faint fruit and funk. Mouthfeel is tart with notes of tart oak, wine, grape, faint fruit and funk. This has definitely started to fade with age, but still an interesting sour. I would’ve loved to try this fresh. Brew it again, RR!

Bottle at the 4k/5k/10k tasting. Pours amber and hazy with almost no head. Light funky-ish base, light grainy malty notes, hints of fruits, and a light tartness. Balanced and drinkable, I guess, but a touch on the bland side.
