UPDATED: AUG 26, 2022 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, dark brown with an orange hue and a small, rough, beige head. Sweet chocolate and subtle roast in the nose with a hint of smoke. Sweet, malty body. Vanilla and milk chocolate with only a wee whiff of (Bamberg?) smoke. Low carbonation. Baltic Porter? 260822

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2021 Bottle from the brewery online, pours black with a tan foam that settles to a loose crema and smoky aromas of treacle, red fruit and ham. Thick and lightly tangy-tart, sweet fruity undertones and a little sticky-burnt. Good but not quite 'there', I fear. Re-rate a few months on, plums and smoked ham, plus a little cocoa on the finish, still a bit too sticky but definitely better. Guess I got a bad bottle the first time.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2021 0,33 l Flasche. Schwarzes Bier, cremiger, brauner Schaum. Riecht röstig, schmeckt auch so, Dörrobst, im Abgang dunkle Schokolade.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2020 Geringe Schaumentwicklung mit durchschnittlich feiner Konsistenz und eingefärbten Schaum. Farblich ist das Bier dunkelbraun mit deutlichem Rotstich. Riecht stark röstmalzig, Kaffee, rauchig, etwas Lakritz. Geringe Rezenz im Antrunk bei öligem Mundgefühl, von vornherein stark röstmalzig, rauchig, Kaffee und etwas Schokolade. Im Abgang sehr bitter. Schmeckt durchaus nach mehr Umdrehungen, lediglich das etwas dünne Mundgefühl spricht dagegen. Nicht schlecht!

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2020 33cl Bottle @ Craftbeer-shop.com, Parchim, Germany. Dark brown colour with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, licorice. Taste follows the aroma. Medium body, average carbonation.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2019 The beer has got a deep black colour with a steady head and medium body. Aroma of smoke and turf. Taste of roasted malt, dark bread, smoke, leather and coffee. Smooth finish.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2019 Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a teku glass. Opaque but clear ruby brown, small frothy tan head, mostly diminishing, good lacing; aroma roasted malt, wood, bacon, coffee, tarr, licorice; smooth taste, medium sweet and light bitter, smoked malt, coffee, bit bacon; mild smokey sweetbitter finish; medium body, oily texture, soft combination; smooth and well-balanced not that outspoken rauchbier, good.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2021 lightly smoked, slightly sour, although I don't think it should be. gives the beer a bit of a perceived thin body. (June 2019 3.2) Barely smoked. A bit soured, a bit thin. I’ll upgrade to 3.3, as it’s an okay beer, but way out of style for what they claim. Craftbiershop
