UPDATED: OCT 29, 2021 Taster showing dark brown with no head. The nose shows strong notes of mocha - caramel, charred bourbon barrel. The palate is lightly carbonated and medium bodied. Mildly sweet with a strong alcoholic background with a mid palate of clean espresso and balanced coffee bitterness.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2021 (650ml bottle from a now-forgotten webshop) Pours pitch black with a small dark tan ring. Notes of chocolate malt, maple syrup, moderate bourbon, fudgy caramel, fair amount of roast to the malt plus soft dark fruit accents, charred wood, quite sweet up front with a moderately dry finish, bitter roast and woody vanilla over chocolate plus soft maple in the aftertaste. Medium-full body, oily to syrupy, nice variant as you'd expect from the combo of jesus and maple...

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2021 Bottle at tasting. Aroma of maple, rich chocolate, bourbon vanilla, caramel fudge, maple, malt and sweet cherry. Taste has rich caramel fudge, bourbon vanilla, chocolate, sweet cherry, maple, some mocha coffee, vanilla, malt and a boozy bourbony. Absolutely delicious.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2020 Shared bomber, viscously poured to snifters displaying a black/brown hue, with a presentable layer of brownish tan froth, and foamy spots of lacing. The nose was roasted, cocoa, treacle, some dark fruit, vanilla, dark caramel, and maple sweetness, with ready bourbon. Medium to full bodied, the taste was similar notes, with mild oatmeal/malt creaminess, moderate carbonation, pleasant booze, and accommodating, roasted & barrel bitterness. Excellent upgrade to the base brew.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2020 Big, thick, rich and sweet. Notes of vanilla, toasted wood, bourbon, caramel, and chocolate dominate. Not at all subtle, except for perhaps the hints of maple. Alcohol very prominent. Too sweet for me, but clearly well done. Bottle courtesy of Tim, 12 Brews of Christmas #1.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2020 Bottle. A- Whisky, chocolate, maple. A- Black color, black liquid, minimal head. T- Booze, chocolate. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly boozy finish. O- Really nice. Got the maple on the nose but it only added to the booziness on the palate. Perhaps this doesn't need barrel aging. Good but a very big beer.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2019 Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a snifter. Black with small brown head. Aroma is maple, thick body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is maple, milk chocolate, bourbon, and some wood. Great beer.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2019 Bottle at home. Black body with a small brown head. Roasted malt, chocolate, maple syrup, bourbon, smooth, well balanced. Lovely.
