COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweet Potato Stout, our original Sweet Potato Cream Stout, is the ideal Southern-style Stout. Brewed with roasted Southern-grown sweet potatoes, the background has an impressive taste with added notes of roasted chocolate, coffee, and caramel flavors with sweetening enhanced with lactose (milk sugar).

MNAle (694) - Minnesota, USA - OCT 14, 2019
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2019 Color is opaque black with a 1/2 inch tan, thick, creamy head, receding moderately. No lacing from the head receding, but nice strings of lacing when you drink. Aroma is roasty malts, coffee, hints of chocolate, hints of dark fruit. Mouth feel is medium to thin, but creamy. Taste is also roasty and coffee, as the aroma, but in addition there is a creaminess with a slight nuttiness. Initially there is a subtle sweetness, then a light bitterness, but the finish is dry and the aftertaste roasty and mildly bitter. Overall, an easy drinking, roasty, creamy dry stout with a complex and slightly sweet flavor.

Jabah (2555) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - MAR 18, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2019 Maybe they improved on the appearance over the years, cause this one was dark dark brown/near black, with a nice mocha head that stuck around for a bit with some lacing. A little thicker and darker would be almost perfect. I'll admit, a little thin for a stout, but still had a semi-creamy texture. The blend of flavors worked well...and towards the end you can actually taste some yam/sweet potato/taro. Not sure if quite worth $2 a beer, or $11 a 6...but worth the try for sure. I liked this one.

Bif (3307) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - FEB 24, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 24, 2019 On tap. Pours a black color with a small head. Aroma of chocolate, malt and hint of sweet potato. Taste of milk chocolate, malt, with hint of molasses. Slight bitterness and fairly dry finish. Medium body and quite smooth. Seem a bit thin and a bit shy with the sweet potato.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2018 12 oz bottle thanks to Buckeyeboy. Sweet potato flavor there but a little lacking. Dry and not too sweet. Overall good beer but would not seek out again.

stevoj (16140) - Boise, Idaho, USA - DEC 9, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2018 Bottle at share, courtesy of Jeremy. Initially wasn't wowed by this beer, but it's hard to follow a Three Floyds dark lord. Still the beer offered a nice sweet sticky Stout experience, with the yams just providing an extra bit of sweetness to it. Best of all it was my first Mississippi tick.

BuckeyeBoy (17589) - Boise, Idaho, USA - DEC 9, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2018 12oz bottle pours out dark brown topped with a tan head. Nose is light roast some sweet notes and a lite ash. Taste is more of the nice roast malts and some sweetness

Sweet potato, roasted malt and lactose aroma. Very pretty, black with a brown head. Tastes more roasty than expected with some lactose, not much sweet potato. Decent.
