phaleslu (16553) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 19, 2018750 ml bottle from the brewery. January 2018 vintage. Pours a cloudy, deep, dark brown, not quite opaque, with a moderate tan head that settles into a thick ring and a little bit of film that doesn’t last. Notes of cacao nibs, roasted malts, toasted sugars, vanilla, tobacco, and just a wee bit of orange zest. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, mildly roasty mouthfeel. The orange isn’t particularly assertive 10 months out but it’s in great shape. Good stout.
