UPDATED: DEC 28, 2023 Sample (thanks fonefan). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is alcohol, some liquorice, some nutty, sherry and some toffee and mild sweet sugary tones. Flavour is alcohol, sweetness, some sherry and mild toffee. Quite sweetish.

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2021 Bomber bottle shared at Northern Monk Refrectory, Leeds last weekend. Pours oily black with a tan head. Aroma: roasted malt, red wine barrel, roasted malt, chocolate. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet, chocolate, some coffee, dark dried fruits, muscovado sugar, light smoke. Full body with soft carbonation.

UPDATED: AUG 1, 2021 Black with a tan head. Aroma of red wine, chocolate, vanilla, light roast. Full bodied, moderate barrel presence, tasty and obviously overpriced @ $50/bottle. Yea, tastes like a good red wine barrel but at the end of the day it’s still a red wine barrel aged imperial.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2021 Pours pitch black with small dark beige head. Chocolate, vanilla, black berries, black currant, grapes in the nose. Taste is chocolate, roasted malts, grapes, vanilla, roasted malts, wood. Full body, oily texture and flat carbonation.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2021 66 cl bottle. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, chocolate, wood, grapes, and red wine - with a slightly alcoholic finish.

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2021 Sample, thanks fonefan! Black, minimal brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate and red wine. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Dark chocolate and coffee, lots of tanninic red wine. Mildly warming finish. Sweet, but not cloying. The red wine really adds something.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2020 Bottle massive thanks to Kenny. It pours opaque jet black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich roasted, bitter - sweet, oily, vanilla, toasted coconut, jammy, vinous, red wine, plum jam, cherry, jam rolly polly, perfumed and bounty bar. The taste is slick, oily, bitter - sweet, toothy, chewy, vanilla, toasted coconut, coffee, roasted malt, jammy, chocolate cake, unctuous, red wine, oak, bounty bar, cherry Bakewell tart, warming booze, maltesers and just a touch of spice with a slick finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth feel. Lovely stuff.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2020 Pours totally black with almost no top. Nose is red wine and dark fruits. Taste is well balanced coffee, chocolate, charcoal and a nice touch of the red wine barrels. Long Taste of the coffee and the barrels. Almost a perfect Imperial Stout. K
