COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A smoked American stout that activates the senses! The ruddy brown hue beckons you to take in the cherry smoke and hop aromas that are the vanguard of the chocolate, coffee, and caramel malt flavors. A roasty finish coupled with a rich mouthfeel, this beer pleasantly lingers on the palatte.

Sample at Rattle N Hum. Dark brown color with a medium tan head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Campfire aroma with some malt notes. Medium body with flavors of charred malt, adhesive bandages and dark chocolate. The finish is smoky with a burnt wood aftertaste. Too over the top for me, I had trouble enjoying this one.

Pours clear black with a medium, frothy tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy smoke, ash and meat, light earthy hops, roast and chocolate malt. Flavor is malt dominant with heavy smoke, light hops and bitterness with fruity esters and a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - AUG 25, 2007
Draft at the brewpub. Poured a dark brown-red color. Head was thick and tan with good retention and lacing. Attractive and unique aroma of smoked malt, chocolate, and flowery hops. Dry and roasty on the tongue with a smoky burnt stick note up front that strengthened toward the end. The accompanying roasted malt and delicate hop flavors made this a really good beer.
