Papsoe (25039) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 26, 2010Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a cloudy golden with a rough white head. Loads of elderflower in the nose. Light body, very dry fruit and again very dominating elderflower accents. Ends dry. I’d rather call this a Spicy/Herb/Vegetable since the elderflower is so dominant. 261010
sebletitje (11868) - Bruxelles, BELGIUM - JUN 9, 201033cl bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Switzerland. Lot# LG066
pours golden, fizzy white head
aroma, nice floral elder flowers, wheat and grains. Elder comes out nicely adding a subtle mix to the hops.
flavors, similar to aroma where the elder flower adds a nice complex floral palate, some malts complement it with mild bread, floral hops. Wheat comes out as quite present as well.
Sadly this is another Faiseurs beer that is overly yeasty forcing over two fingers of beer to remain in the bottle unless you enjoy getting a murky overly yeasty finish.
Nickls (2680) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - MAY 8, 2010Pours with a very minimal off-white head; murky, muddy brown hue that really is strange for the Wit style. Aroma is pretty muted, hints of flower, yeast, and some light fruits. Apricots, apples, and pears are the key features of the flavor for me. Thinner body that runs a little slick with tight bubbly carbonation, which is OK. Not a bad brew, and certainly not all over the place. Well put together, but just a bit lacking for me.
Embrouille (2879) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 1, 2009Bottled 33cl. Courtesy of Bov. Appearance: It pours a murky copper beer with a small, quick diminishing head. Not much lacework. Aroma: The nose is yeasty with hints of elderflower, cork, melon, hops and lemon. Rather inviting. Flavor and palate: Yeasty with a lot of elderflower appearing, accompanied by a hint of macadamia nuts. Lovely spritzy palate. Very dry. Light bodied. Dry finish with hints of elderflower, peanuts and hops. Overall impression: A very pleasant beer. Thanks Bov!
fiulijn (28370) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 7, 2008Cloudy golden color; fizzy, and the head disappears quickly. As the name suggests, there is a quite delicate and nice elderflower aroma and flavor; unfortunately as the fizzyness led me to suspect, the body is very weak, and even too dry at the end, the bitterness becomes almost unpleasant. I also tried to homebrew something similar many years ago: I think I poured most of it down the drain. Refreshing, original for the summer, but not the excellence among beers.
TBone (27153) - Pori, FINLAND - DEC 21, 2007Bottled (BB 03/2008)
Hazy orange color, huge white cloudy head, lace. Perfumic flowery and herbal aroma. Light palate. Spicey, herbal flavor, I don’t know what plant is used, but it is evident in the flavor. Crisp, kind of refreshing, but a bit boring (although unique).
