Rune	3.9 Jopen Zwarte Ziel (BA Bourbon Blend) 330ml bottle, 10 % abv, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. A few bubbles on the surface of a deep dark brownish body, scattered lacing. Inviting peaty aromas with chocolate malts. Well blended taste of dark chocolate, peat, prunes, and toffee, oaky. Bourbon hints to a smoked malty finish. Sipper qualities, still quite easy to drink. Nose is juicy citric flesh, melon, papaya, grapefruit, soft malts. Taste comprises mango flesh, mandarin, papaya, ripe melon. Medium bodied, fine massaging carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy come lightly resinous hop bitterness. Tidy well rounded DIPA. Saturday, May 18, 2024

Airy smooth palate, decent fine carbonation coming through on the back end. Fluffy malts, a light creamy sweetness. Cooling pine. A bitterish edge to the hop front, light but fairly bright citrus. Aroma of smooth roasted dark malt, Bourbon, wood, mild smoke and hint of peat. Taste is in the same direction, smooth, sweet, mild roasted dark malt, sweer Bourbon, wood, hint of vanilla, peat, toffee and warming alcohol. Balanced bitterness. DijkBier	3.8 Jopen Viva El Rye Hazy IPA (2024 Small Batch Limited) Can 44cl without label from a local supermarket. Very hazy, milky yellow pour with foamy white head; good retention , very good lacing. Aroma is an intriguing mix of citric senses, grapefruit, other yellow fruits (but not particularly the mentioned pineapple), hoppy, indeed something coconutty and a sense of wood; but disappearing also. (Second time less citric, more a bit tropical, and something dill-like). The taste has the same senses, nice; at least moderate bitter and also citric resp. tropical. Good carbo and firm bite. Interesting brew, a bit hard to grab but nice. (Combined rates on 27/04/24 and 03/05/24) Friday, April 26, 2024

Taste has sweet chocolate & speculoos surrounded by spicy cinnamon & gingerbread against a toasty malt backbone. Peppery hops in the finish, lots of spices lingering, a hint of coffee and warming liqueur-like alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation.
