2.9 Upham UB5 Bottle from Tesco, Brooklands. Malty aroma with a slight sour nose to it. Copper gold. Bubbly white head. Odd taste - bitter but that only just masks the lagery sweetness. Light bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Long astringent finish. This isn't really an APA. In fact the brewery are vague as to what sort of beer it is - they just go with the somewhat meaningless 'premium craft beer'. More like a hoppy lager - somewhere between a Premium Lager and an IPL. Not great. Saturday, July 21, 2018

2.6 Upham 1st Drop May 2018. Humble Plumb, Wadworth pub in Southampton. Discussing with beer friends recently and we agree that Upham make worthy but unexciting or uninteresting beers. And this is another. There's a lot of smudgy, powdery bittering hops, but nothing fragrant or uplifting, and the malt is acceptable rather than tasty. It works as a beer (albeit a little too hoppy for my taste), but doesn't delight. Thursday, May 31, 2018

3 Upham Silver Blaze Feb 2017. TramStop, Southampton. A decent old fashioned ale with a lovely malty flavour enhanced by careful use of hops. I like this. There is some similarity with an American brown ale. Sweet finish. Friday, February 9, 2018

2.9 Upham Winter's T'Ale Cask at Westgate, Winchester. Smells I like fish, but to be fair I suspect that was an overly powerful background aroma. Chestnut. Thin translucent white head. Really low key bitter. Some caramel and malts. But spice? Where? Light. Thin. Average carbonation. Long low key finish. Fails to deliver. Tedious. Tuesday, December 12, 2017

4.1 Upham UB5 330ml green bottle in some supermarket in Romsey. Wyglad niepozorny bo zielone szklo prosta etykieta, przypominalo lagera przemyslowego. Tuesday, December 12, 2017
