mcberko	2.6 Crannóg Half Crown Mild Ale On tap at The Barley Merchant, pours a clear amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma is fairly neutral, with soft bready malt, not much else. Flavour is dry, with some English bready malt and toasted notes. Clean enough but totally uninteresting. Saturday, October 14, 2023

mcberko	3.4 Crannóg Auntie Fa On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a dark brown with an amber tinge and a small beige head. Nose brings out lots of bready malt and some subdued caramel. stantheman	3.4 Crannóg Auntie Fa On tap at St Augustine's in Vancouver. A dark brown beer with white head and a mild malty nutty nose. Equally so on the palate. A nice mild flavorful inoffensive brown ale. Antifa? Fuck Antifa! I view them with almost as much skepticism as I do white nationalism. DeanF	3.5 Crannóg Red Branch Organic Irish Ale Good muddy brown body and modest foam. Chewy sweet biscuit on the nose, slightly syrupy. Flavour is like a caramel mousse, really smooth and yet light with hints of biscuit and vague custard notes. Finish is mostly dry, okay carbonation. This one's enjoyable, rich and refreshing. DeanF	3.7 Crannóg Insurrection IPA Very excellent dude foam and soft deep gold body, the aroma is bright sweet hops with lager notes maybe vague malts but who can be sure. Flavour is a very nice balance between sharp hop and deep biscuit malt; chewy, funky, deep and heavy though also very well balanced. It has nice oiliness and some sweet biscuity aftertaste. Quite good, a little simplistic but I can see how this would work exceptionally well for those relaxing on a patio chair, staring up at the sky, at the stars in the early August in Sorrento. DeanF	3.4 Crannóg Gael’s Blood / Wild Gael Growler purchase at the brewery, listed as "Wild Gael Potato Ale" these days. Pours with excellent foam and a deep reddish brown body, carbonation of small bubbles. Very faint malt and starch on the nose, though quite frankly not much of anything. Flavour is bright creamy molasses, biscuit notes, hazelnut. Mouthfeel is smooth but could be fuller for a beer like this. Still, it's quite nice. Monday, August 3, 2020
DeanF	3.4 Crannóg Mac Tir Has a very nice deep purple body, mostly clear, pretty much no foam sadly. The aroma is funky berry, chewy sweet blueberry and raspberry. Falvour is more good berry character, some vague malty grain notes if I'm correct; full mouthfeel, a little crispness, sugariness moderated by some grain character if I do believe. Tasted within 48 hours of this growler fill picked up from the arse end of Sorrento I'd say it's quite nice, not too flashy or amazing but does get the job done. Workmanlike. exeter	3.3 Crannóg Red Branch Organic Irish Ale Pours a copper colour with a slight head and lace. The taste is of roasted caramel, nuttiness, smokiness and dark fruit. A great session beer. Tuesday, June 27, 2017
exeter	3.8 Crannóg Back Hand of God Stout Pours dark with very little head and no lacing. The taste is of burnt coffee, smoke, toasted malt and light chocolate. A little thinner than most, but that’s great if you’re not having a sipping night. This brewery is ultra rare, and is 100% environmentally sound. No waste as their website says. Aroma brings out spicy notes from the ginger, along with toasted bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with light spicy ginger upfront and a toasted bready malt backbone. The aroma is mild, the mouthfeel is very smooth, sugary malts with a mild toffee character, correct bitterness, a bit herbaceous in the final. Some original traits here, not bad. mcberko	2 Crannóg The Other Hand On cask at GCBF 2016, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of the whiskey upfront, followed by dark fruitiness. Flavour is very cheap and artificial tasting, with muted whiskey notes. These infusions where the brewer dumps hard liquor into their beers are such jokes and never turn out well. Bad. Smells like stale bread (and some ass, sewage water), tastes like soaked dark bread, no malt quality, no Mead either, and I guess they didn’t use hops; it has a small residual sweetness. En bouche il y a plein du corps avec bas carbonation pour le style. Plein de malt, et une très bonne amertume pour être 65 IBU. Très bien brassé, avec plein de malt (et corps) mais très peu de sucre résiduel. Très buvable et surtout unique pour le style et région. J’achèterais ça souvent si c’était disponible en Vancouver! vadie	4 Crannóg Back Hand of God Stout En fût à la brasserie. D’abord, je suis étonné que cette bière reçoit des scores tellement bas. C’est une de les meilleurs stout que j’ai jamais bu. Peut-être j’ai eu de la chance et que j’ai tombé sur un lot spéciale. L’arôme est comme un stout impériale. Plein du malt torréfié, avec du chocolat et café. L’arôme est tellement forte et complexe que je dirais que c’est même épais. En bouche il y a plein du corps, mais ce n’est pas lourde comme un stout impériale. D’abord il y a du chocolat et café, un peu sucré, puis un amertume léger qui l’équilibre juste assez pour que ça soit buvable. Les saveurs sont très prononcés et complémentaire. Si j’ai un avis ça sera que une finition un peu plus amer l’équilibrera mieux la palate un peu sucré. Wednesday, June 8, 2016

Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of holiday spices, especially nutmeg, along with subdued dark fruits and bready malt. Not my thing at all, but the balance and construction is decent.
