Tree House The Prodigal Haze - Part IV
4 pack canned 4/23/24, final can drunk 5/30/24. Turbid orange-pineapple juice. Large, well-retained, heavy cream-colored head. Yeah, that's juicy. Excellent spice in there, as well. And of course don't forget the mango and orange juice. Round, rich malts, seemingly well-attenuated, with no pine, resin or alcohol. Juicy, spicy, malty and really nicely-attenuated with excellent richness. The Nelson spice is awesome here, adding chalky, mineral dryness, as well. Guava, pineapple, hints of pine and pithy citrus with lingering juicy mango and rich maltiness. No resin, possibly a touch of alcohol.

Tree House Moher Mocha
Bottle drunk 5/29/24. Dark, syrupy. Scant bubbles. Wow, rich, savory, decadent, some Irish whiskey and Irish cream. Chocolate, dates, vanilla, rich but mellow bourbon...fudge. just so aromatic and rich but balanced. No booze. Wow, that's not nearly as sweet as expected. A lot of dryness leading to molasses and light bourbon intensity. Coffee is very light, just a light bitter roast in the background, with molasses and rich cacao lingering long alongside syrupy caramel-vanilla. Well that is something. Want expecting this balance and flavor intensity from a blended stout. Lots of bourbon spice, roast, and molasses character lingering. Coffee adds complexity but it's a dry, bitter roast that I'm not sure is needed.

Tree House Meander
Canned "Summer 2024" (was ~5/22-ish), drunk 5/29/24. Clear brassy-golden. Small, white head sits at cover. Fresh spring water, hints of sourdough, bright herbal accents and clean, well-attenuated, honey-like malts. Very light, bright and dainty. Very clean. In the mouth it's equally clean, bright, well-hopped but not overdone and still shows plentiful biscuit, honey and cracker from the malt. Good depth with great attenuation. Lingering mineral and spring water. Just the right amount of bitterness. Have two more cans but am pretty confident in rating this now.

Waxed 750ml bottle. I was lucky to be at Tree House the day they dropped these ... expesive at $60, but had to get it. Poured a deep brown color with a thin sized off white head. Lots of woodiness, chared wood, bourbon, some earthiness, and lots of barrel. For me it was smooth for 16%.

Tree House Very Green - Mango
Tewks draught, 5/26/24. Near turbid, pale-golden-bronze. Medium-sized, white head steadily to partial cover. Heavy galaxy of course. There's some dry spruce, but also lots of lighter spice, pine and strawberry. Mango is certainly there, I won't say heavy, but prominent. I think it does help soften the rather austere galaxy. It's crazy how different this is than Galaxy Many Ways. More juice, more dry spice, not quite as much mineral or focus on the hop, though that's the mango addition, obviously. Juicy, with soft malts. Lingering pine, mango and sprucey Galaxy spice. Good balance, drying chalky mineral. I hate to say it, but Haze is quite superior (having just had Haze 10th).

Tree House House Lager - Motueka
Side pull at Tewks, 5/26/24. Pale lemon-lime-golden. Hint of haze. Snow white head atop. Fruity, very approachable, lime-lemon accented Motueka is round and bright with a bit of cracker and dainty honey from the malt. Clean. Full and round, with a creamy consistency and lots of body for its size. Lemony-juicy fruits, sweet gummies and light mango rind. Biscuit and a touch of creamed corn or cream of wheat. Easygoing, drinkable and flavorful. Clean.

Tree House Haze - 10th Anniversary
Tewks draught, 5/26/24. Paleish golden. Near turbid. Large white head, moderate retention. Sprucey Galaxy and some light papaya and chalky mineral with a light pine edge keeping the juicy, fruity character in check. Supple malts, seemingly well attenuated. Clean, no booze. Highly aromatic and spicy without too much citrus. Haze has become probably my favorite of their line and this is no different. Juicy, with a good backing of pine and light citrus-mango. Supple, soft malts add rich honey. Tangerine, light to moderate spiciness and light minerality all move towards a pine, tangerine and juicy, richly malted finish. The best part is the piney bitterness balancing and keeping it very drinkable; refreshing, even.

It pours cloudy golden yellow with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, bright, guava, watermelon, sherbet, candy, brioche and gummy bears. The taste is crisp, dry, green, weedy, dank, orangey citrus, touch of candy, lime cordial, floury bread, biscuit and nip of booze with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Decent.

16 ounce can from Sandwich brewery. Hazy orange gold pour. Frothy beige head settles to a manageable cap. Piney hops blend with bready malt and juicy citrus on the nose. Flavor is more of the same. Tropical citrus, pineapple and resiny hops abound. Finishes dry with peppery notes.

Big gold waxed number thanks to Billy. It pours motor oil black with a small tan head. It pours opaque black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich, oily, charred, umami, woody, charred, walnuts, bourbon soaked oak and toffee crisp. The taste is dry, snappy, bitter - sweet, spicy, boozey warmth, dark chocolate, coffee beans, chocolate covered coffee beans, rubbing alcohol, spice and rocky road with a drying, boozey finish. Fulsome body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Thick and filthy. Big, sweet and savoury.

Tree House Juice Machine - 10th Anniversary
4 pack canned 4/19/24, last can drunk 5/21/24. Turbid bronze-brass-golden. Massive, off-white head, well-retained. This was pretty powerfully undrinkable fresh, being way to bitter and yeasty. It showed marked improvement between two and three weeks, and here at just over a month, it's juicy, assertive, heavy on pineapple, guava, and even light pine. The biggest challenge here is the relative dryness. Obviously I'm supportive of all things dry, but this has A LOT of bitterness for the style, bordering on light pine resin/spruce (seems to be a good deal of Galaxy in here). If you like classic/WC IPAs, you will absolutely adore this. Or, if like me, you only like the softer NEIPAs, it's a bit of a tough cookie. Still, it's creamy, juicy, full of a wide range of flavors and has ample malt and dryness. I probably should have saved a can to see how it develops over another month. I suspect it may have some surprises left.

Tree House Curiosity 141 (One Hundred Forty-One)
Canned 4/11/24, with last can of 4 pack drunk 5/18/24. Heavily hazy, bronze-brass-golden. Large, frothy, off-white head. Very juicy with some dry spice, light citrus, a hint of pine and heavy mango/papaya. There's good, not spectacular Nelson with more juice than spice, where I'd like the opposite ideally. Malts add biscuit and cracker, light honey, good balance. No booze or resin. Juicy, with a bit of sulfur and more spice than the nose divulges. Soft and also crackery malts provide interesting texture, with good depth and attenuation. Heavy mango, pineapple, papaya. Less so on the spicy Nelson character and drier white wine, but it's certainly still there. Has aged very nicely over more than a month.

Tree House Galaxy Many Ways Part One - Tasmania
Canned 4/10/24, if i remember correctly. 4 pack drunk over the course of the next month, with the final can drunk 5/16/24. Heavily hazy/soupy, lime-bronze, medium-sized, off-white head, good retention. Wow did this improve. The last two cans were over a month old and were, far, far superior. Tropical fruit with heavy guava, moderate lime and good spiciness emerge in the nose. Pale, honey-like malts gently balance. Clean, no spruce/cranberry and no resin or alcohol. In the mouth it's soft, juicy with just a hint of watermelon and lovely waves of spice. The bitterness is ample, really making the beer and balancing the creamy, honey-drenched malts. Good attenuation, tons of lime-guava-white wine and mineral.
