Pours a hazy gold with a modest head with spotty lacing and lots of floaties. Aroma is citrus and some tropical fruit. Taste is sweet upfront with fruits and citrus juices transitioning to a bitter zest and hop halfway through. Bitterness tapers off and finishes with a mild taste of wine. Interesting beer and lots going on here.

473ml can pours a slightly hazy amber color with average off-white head that leaves some clumps of lacing. Aroma is full of earthy malts, with some pine, wet wood, and diacetyl butter. Taste is bitter. Body is medium with average carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. Not easy to drink, no matter what style you call it.

473ml can pours a clear amber with a big, creamy white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma has caramel, toasted bread, molasses and corn syrup. It pours jet black opaque; the head is caramel coloured and soapy that dissipates quickly. The aroma has notes of: chocolate, leather, anise, graham cracker, and coffee. The taste is lightly sweet that finishes heavy bitter. The palate is full bodied with basically no carbonation; the mouthfeel is oily and astringent and the finish is long and bitter. Overall, I thought it was a Firestone Walker product - I was mistaken..

Caramel, molasses and coffee accompany dates and figs in an olfactory sprinkled with alcohol. Black and opaque liquid covered with a creamy and persistent mocha foam. A thinner-than-average texture and body brings intense roasting elements reminiscent of strong coffee and dark chocolate. The finish presents us with a good roasting bitterness with a slight presence of alcohol. A few peppery notes, earthy hops and light black fruits complete the whole thing. The texture and lack of body influence the complexity of malt flavours. Carbonation is also slightly more active than average. Slight lack of character with a complexity below average. Good to taste but rather standard as Imperial Stout. O :8.725 V :4.75 G :6.1 B :2.25 O :13.9 T :35.725

Alcohol and butterscotch with a touch of cherries are expressed in a low-power olfactory. The liquid is coppery reddish, noticeably clear with a lot of bubbles escaping from it. The foam is thick, well-formed and persistent. The flavors of caramel range in a rather strong alcohol feel for its advertised degree. Accents of cherries, prunes and earthy hops. The body is lighter than average, which has the effect of giving a waterier feel and diluting the malted flavors of caramel. The effervescence is also more intense than usual for this style. Beautiful technical qualities, good taste, but a slight lack of roundness, a slightly lively effervescence and a rather linear complexity. O: 8.583 V: 4.717 G: 7.815 B: 3.242 O: 14.25 T: 38.607

Very dark pour. Almost black. Slightly amber. Thin pour then rapid carbonation release to quickly produce large, long lasting head. Heavy lacing. Tan, foamy head. Strong chocolate aroma. Mellow flavour with a slight hint of cherry?. Subdued. The 10% abv doesn't overwhelm. A hint of bitterness remains. A slightly smokey flavour seems to come through as the palate adjusts. Over all, an above average choice. I would have liked a bit stronger flavours and I do not like the overly large bottle. If single are available, this would be worth attempting to cellar.

Pours a black colour with very little highlights that show some ruby-copper. The head is beautiful creamy, mocha-coloured, with great retention and creamy lacing all-around. Roasted malt aromas with dark fruit notes, molasses, nuts and coffee. The taste shows a nice balance of chocolate and coffee, with a nice warming mouthfeel. Roasted malt is left on the tongue. Great label and great Imperial Stout.

750ml bottle from LCBO. Even slowly, it pours an insanely massive frothing brownish head and has a pitch black appearance. Long lasting retention, leaves some thick sticky, dirty lacing behind. Aromas of dark roasted malts, equally dark chocolate, strong coffee notes, hints of vanilla. Flavors are sweet and chocolatey straight away, followed by the dark roasted malts, cacao nibs, coffee, vanilla. Alcohol is fairly strong but overall doesn't detract from the abundant flavours. Pretty good addition to the Russian stout types.

Caramel and nutty aroma dominates, pours a translucent ruby red colour w a frothy head. Carbonation overwhelms flavors initially but gives way to hints of coffee and a sweet syrupy finish. Not bad. Would actually rate this a 14 for overall and a 6 for aroma but sliders don’t work on this app any more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours an opaque dark brown body with a large slightly-off coloured head. Aromas of dark fruits and caramel. Taste is very sweet, with a slight caramel/toffee flavour. Even though it's 7% abv the taste is pretty mild, alcohol is decently hidden but there's a nice warmth to the body. Surprisingly good, worth trying for sure.
