3.3 Papegaei Oostende 20/7 2023. 33 cl bottle from Spar, Langestraat, Oostende. Light blue label with a yellow frame and a elegant black bird-logo. Pours opaque - almost hazy - golden yellow with a small white head. Stable. Settles as thin almost transparent layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor with a touch of ripe fruits mingling with a sourish, spicy scent. Sweet pale malts, banana, pear and a bit of white sugar. Coriander. Yeasty, musty notes. A bit of lemon. Rather strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lively and tingling texture. Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a sugary touch. Lingers for a while. Finish is sweet with a light boozy streak. A tad too sweet for my taste buds. Thursday, July 20, 2023

3.2 Papegaei Another strong blonde ale with a thick head of foam and an almost anonymous aroma that only bears a little yeast. The taste is outstanding of light caramel, a lot of honey, light wheat bread and a slightly spicy taste that is probably coriander and maybe a little thyme. It is mainly very sweet with ordinary sugar, but fortunately it also has a little fruity sweetness in the form of apricot and peach. The hop bitterness is present and rounds off with a little taste of lime, but again I miss a little more counterpoint to the malt and honey sweetness. In its bitter aftertaste, a little of the aforementioned spices are present, along with lime and a little honey. Friday, July 22, 2022

3.3 Papegaei Bottle sourced from Saveur-Biere.com and drunk at home - New 🇧🇪 brewery ✅ - hazy golden pour with a white head. Very sweet with notes of lemon drizzle, getting some apricot, white icing sugar, honey, yeasty and sweet doughy bready malty, spices throughout, warming spiced finish. Ok but borderline too sweet for me. Sunday, June 26, 2022

3.5 Papegaei Almost clear amber/golden pour with a white head that wants to leave in a hurry. Belgian yeast aroma, quite spicy, banana, cream candy, softly malty, bubblegum, a hint of alcohol peaking through. Over medium sweet and medium bitter. Hardly any acidity there. Medium bodied, average bubbles. Bit on the sweet side, alcohol is definitely present but not overwhelming. Tasty blonde. Saturday, October 3, 2020
