Alengrin	3.2 Phylosophe Blanche Bio Semi-organic witbier formerly made by Phylosophale. Cream white, dense, thick head over a purely golden blond beer with somewhat greenish hue, hazy. Sweet barley and sour wheat go hand in hand in the aroma, accompanied by coriander, lemon peel, vanilla, flowers, fresh sorrel, cinnamon, powder sugar. Vivid fruitiness and refreshing wheat sourishness in the mouth, some honeyish barley malts, flowery finish with a vague but correctly timed hop accent. I’d prefer something like this over Hoegaarden any day. Saturday, September 20, 2014
Alengrin	3.3 Phylosophe Auburn ’Autumn-like’ beer formerly made by Phylosophale in Luingne. Cream white, coarse, stable head over a brownish amber beer, cloudy. Malty and yeasty aroma, walnuts, plums, orange, nutmeg, toasted bread, dried leaves, liquorice, bitter chocolate, cloves, straw. Malty taste, quiet palate, deep ’nuttiness’ and restrained, dried fruitiness, powdery mouthfeel, chocolatey malts and late, roasted and peppery hoppy bitterness. Lubiere	3.4 Phylosophe Premium A hazy golden ale with a thick white head. A rather surprising lemon and musk aroma, milkey, with vanilla notes. In mouth, the vanilla comes out much more, with a good malt base, light genever notes, a bit short in mouth. Gift from Kasta (i think), May 2005. BB 2006. Friday, April 27, 2007

TheBeerGod	3.2 Phylosophe Blanche Bio Bottled. Purchased at Delirium Cafe. Milky amber with a small white head. Nose is spices, cotton candy, fruits, sucrose and yeast with very light grains. There’s also almost a cocoa or chocolate note hidden in there. Taste is spicy and grainy with fruit rinds, yeast, and light bubblegum notes. Body is heavier than expected but still refreshing and over-carbonated. Finish is fruit and spice with light perfumy notes and wheat. Sunday, October 24, 2004
TheBeerGod	3.3 Phylosophe Auburn Bottled. Purchased at Delirium Cafe. Amber body with a small tanned head. nose is flowery with spices and is filled with an underlying sweetened maltiness. Taste is grains, light spice, yeast and light hop charcter. Sort of a nice crispness to this. Body has some carbonated sharpness to it with a very lively notes on the tongue. Some spicy tingling to it as well. Finish is unripened fruit, more grains, and a nice kick at the end. Friday, October 8, 2004

Aroma is nicely hopped and floral with yeast notes and some graininess. taste is hoppy with more flowery parts and grains along with lightly sweetened malt notes. Body is crisp but has a lively carbonation feel to it. Finishes dry with hops, more grains and a hint of fruit. Friday, October 8, 2004
JorisPPattyn	3.7 Phylosophe Auburn Amber, slight greenish shine, end of bottle fully flunky; good yellow-amber head. Roasted, slightly spicey, very balanced, nothing overpowering the rest. First idea of taste is fresh-malty with dash of hops, then a quite oxydized, nutty taste takes over (sample well before BBd!). Bit musty, but not unpleasant. Cookies, old port even. Well bodied, sparkling and yeast-creamy at the same time; again very balanced. Very nice ale - unlike the other Phylosphale beers. Funny about the oxidation, however. Monday, August 9, 2004
JorisPPattyn	3.1 Phylosophe Premium Light-golden, very slight haze; good very light-yellow head. Nose: creamy, cocosmilk, spicey, bit of citrus. Buttery taste, creamy, diacetyl, very much less dry than the nose would have me believed. Doesn’t give the impression, but is quite carbonated. In the aftertaste, the, probably aimed at, dryness gradually wins out. I do not care for diacetyl generally speaking; Would it not have been present here, however, virtually nothing would have been... And I wonder why the label states only that Phylosphale firm distributes the beer - rather than brewing it. Friday, July 16, 2004
JorisPPattyn	3.1 Phylosophe Blanche Bio Pale, clear straw-yellow beer; very little head. End is fully hazy. Coriander, citrussy, salty (?) impression on the nose. Citrussy taste: there is coriander but not aggressive. Slightly minty (?) flavour. Refreshing, light, wheat-acidic. After all, another witbier, decent, but nothing more. Friday, April 9, 2004
