Half-pint jug @ Shrewsbury Food Festival 2015. Pours hazy gold. Aroma is sweet perry pear juice. Taste is super-sweet, a bit too much so with desert apples and a tart, astringent edge. Not too keen on this.

Old Monty Rum Cask Cider
From the barrel at the Great British Beer Festival, 3 August 2006. Straw colour. Heavy rum aroma which tends to obscure pretty much everything else. Appealing mix of apple and rum in the flavour. Some light tannin. Whether you enjoy this or not will depend entirely on whether you like the rum. I do, so it was pretty good for me.

Slightly hazy mid yellow brown. Dusky apples in the aroma with some good ballsy boozy notes. Lovely flavour with a good sour kick that is well balanced with the sweetness. Fantastic mouthfeel. Very tasty.

Barrel at GBBF 2006. Hazy gold, no head. Rum, sour, acetone aroma. More appley in mouth than you would expect from the aroma. Rum is there, but not dominant. Sourness is noticeable on end. Not a big fan of rum, but fine.

Old Monty Rum Cask Cider
Barrel – GBBF. A hazy golden flat looking cider. The aroma has tons of rum with a little apple note. Can pretty much taste the rum just by sniffing it. The taste is more apply and the rum is only hinted at. Juicy and tasty, and very nice indeed.
