Aroma: rye whiskey, dark brown sugar, dark dried fruits, port wine, smoke, oak. Flavor: figs, dates, peat, freshly baked anadama bread, wooden char, caramel, dark brown sugar, vanilla (really tasty). Aroma: lemon, orange, fresh-cut grass, biscuit. Flavor: the above with grapefruit, honey, white pepper, some pine. Mouthfeel: light-bodied, crisp and refreshing. Drinks heavier than its ABV. Nose is very nice and approachable. Coffee, kahlua and some green coffee cherries. Malt, licorice and raisinette. Barrel is there but it screams more brandy or cognac than whiskey. Flavor has maple and barley and malt and caramel. More cookie than anything. Vanilla is there but it feels a touch off. Coffee and kahlua and cognac all stand firm. Full bodied, long oily, boozy finish. Very well balanced. Friday, January 26, 2024

Undercurrent of chocolate, Marmite yeast, and maple. Taste is coffee forward but let's other complements play once it warms up. Maple, breakfast elements, and hints of bourbon, vanilla, and dark fruit. A little thinner mouthfeel than desired. Flavor profile really works...long lasting finish with bourbon coming through again.
